Minimum land size to hunt?

Hi all -
Is there a minimum amount of private property you must own to be able to hunt on?
For example, supposing I owned 10 wooded acres, could I squirrel hunt on it? Hog hunt?
TIA for the information.

I use to squirrel hunt in a neighborhood I grew up in, so surely you can squirrel hunt on 10 acres of land. I’m sure it was illegal for me to do that, but no one ever complained about us doing that.

I deer hunted at my grandparents house for years. It was only 12 acres but surrounded by 1800 acres of land no one hunted.

10 acres would be good for deer or hogs if surrounded by other wooded property. You could clear a lane and bait them in.
Squirrels are possible too but you won't have much room to move around and find them.

While there is no size limit, you do have to be so many feet away from a road and possibly neighbors, check local ordinances, but otherwise as long as you can do it safely go ahead I would think most 10 acre plots would be plenty to squirrel hint on and hog hunting if you could shoot in a safe direction (elevated platform)

What state?
Hunting is usually legal outside of the city limits. Always consider where a bullet might go and who could be over there.

Bow hunt you could have just a few acres I would want to be at least 200-300 yds away from any boundary for rifle hunting. Also small property is only as good as what’s around it

Get a small lot next to some really good property. Put out some corn and deer cocaine and shoot anything that walks over or close to the property line.

You can hunt in your backyard as long as your city or HOA doesn't prohibit it.
The biggest issue you will likely come up against is where you can legally discharge a firearm. Most cities prohibit it within the city limits and almost all parishes will have additional requirements for minimum distance from roads and inhabited dwellings.

Reminds me of a guy here in Birmingham who killed a monster a few years ago. He urban hunts. Basically, developers call him up to hunt on their undeveloped land to keep people off. Obviously he bow hunts, but point is you don't actually need a ton of property.

I know some places in TX are 10 acres. But not sure if that is a county or state law.

10ac isn’t much to squirrel hunt in unless you have a lot of squirrels. Depending on what’s around you you could definitely deer hunt, but your success is probably going to depend on what’s going on on the land around you. You want be able to control much but I’d stick a feeder or a pile of rice bran and a camera up and see what’s coming through.
If I had 10 ac of wooded land I’d give it a shot for sure.

When squirrels became a nuisance in my yard and were chewing shite up I broke out the Benjamin and wore their asses out. I live up n the Garden District in BR.
I’d think you could easily squirrel hunt on 10 acres.

I just bought 1.61 acres. House is on .61 with acre behind it. Already talked to the one neighbor he didn’t mind me putting cameras up on his land (1.5 acres). Our properties back up to 90+ acres though.
Called in 2 ducks to his pond (absolutely tiny) a couple weekends ago as well. Make sure you know what you’re shooting towards.
