It was pretty quiet around my area. But, I’m out in the country. Now, New Year’s Eve sounds like Somalia Adjacent.

frick you. When I was a kid that was what we looked forward to. We had a big family gathering at my grandparents house and all of the kids would bring fireworks and would have teams, one team set up in the barn, the other team somewhere in the woods.. You have no idea how many of us got burned, almost had a fire get out of control (hay catches fire quick), etc.

Every year a few people got hurt, everyone would end up getting in trouble, but that was a rush.. And now that I think about it, our parents should have took responsibility. They would just let us go do whatever while they were drinking and having a good time not paying attention to what all us kids where doing,

I buy the LOUD shite and then fire them off at random intervals starting at nautical dusk.

Salvation is noisy.

What about a desk pop? Is that frowned upon?

It’s really ridiculous. They need to crack down on it. I don’t want to hear fireworks besides the two days legally allowed. Trashy people.

Welcome to having Mexicans in your neighborhood. All you fricks love going over for cookouts, but now their culture inconveniences you. Convenient to bitch and moan when it affects you. People suck.

Must suck to be you. When my husband and I lived in a gated community outside of Seattle, our neighbors included movie producers, Korean business people, retired military officers, etc.

One thing this neighborhood of not poors loved to do was blow shite up on the holidays. My husband (engineer baw) and I (bawette that likes blowing shite up) would go stock up on the illegal fireworks from the Puyallup reservation and bring them back for our street to come together and blow up.

Sorry if you hate America. Xmas Eve/ Xmas/ NYE/ 4th of July on that street were some of the most fun times I've ever had in my adult life.

When did this become a thing? I’ve only noticed it in Christmas Eve recently. Hear some rt now and it’s fricking 11 pm

Im 48 and we always popped fireworks Christmas Eve with all of my cousins. The adults stayed up late, music, dancing, cards, bonfire, etc.

People suck the fun out of everything today. I had 3 kids under 5 and they stayed up late every Christmas Eve too.... I guess they were zombies bc I’ve never had a problem with them waking up from fireworks. Ever.

If you and your cousins didn’t shoot Roman candles and bottle rockets at each other on Christmas Eve while the adults were inside playing bourré, you’re a carpetbagger.

Exactly what we were doing. Walk up to the Booray table and get a cigarette from someone so we could light them.

My best childhood memories. I read threads like this and thank God my family is so awesome and not uptight.

I always thought there were way more men here than us women.... but I guess not bc it sounds like a bunch of chicks bitching in this thread. Live and let live people!

Oh my… getting a lit cigarette from an adult to light explosives of death and dog scaring. Reminds me of so many holiday memories that I hold dear. How did anyone, let alone girls, ever survive that?!?

Good Lord, people are such pansies these days.

Round yon virgin, mother and child
Holy infant, tender and mild

Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.

Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glories stream from heaven above
Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah.
