Cornell Univ. shuts down, 900+ cases of Omicron/covid this week, despite 97% vaccination

The CDC admitted earlier in the week that 80% of Omicron cases in the USA are in the Vaccinated.
What was the excuse by several for this? Because only the vaccinated can travel internationally so therefore they have a better chance of getting it.

Omicron is more evasive to the vaccine and less severe. As far as I know, still only 1 known death in the WORLD to Omicron. Using cases as your basis for policy is stupid. It's past time for everything to go back to normal. And this is coming from someone who's a proponent of the vaccine.
