Any Ohio State QB
Again,
Not sure why everyone keeps saying this.
There have only ever been 3 (4 if you count Ohio State graduate Joe Burrow) and one of those most of you guys have never ever heard of
Haskins thus far is a bust and doubtful he is a full time starter ever again, and Fields is a rookie.

If you haven't heard of Art Schlichter, go read his Wiki bio and prepare to laugh. Dude had legit 1st round NFL talent and he was an absolute uncontrollable gambling degenerate and con man.

I wasn't just talking about 1st rounders (I know the OP is). It's just that they frequently have these QB's that put up huge numbers in college over the last 15 years or so, but never in the pros. I mean, lots of QB's who are not drafted in the first round have good careers. You'd think that one of these OSU guys would pan out, but not so far.
And yeah, I know Fields is a rookie. I have zero expectations that he'll ever be any good.

Because they’re arm chair experts who like lazy arguments
People always say the same thing about Alabama as if Greg McElroy, AJ McCarron, and Blake Sims were expected to be great in the NFL instead of late round or undrafted players like they actually are.

Christian Ponder easily. I played against him in High School and he sucked

Kicking myself for forgetting this one. Knew he was overachieving in college because of his team and was going to fail with Redskins.

I’m sure Johnny Utah would have done well if he didn’t blow out his knee and go into law enforcement.

Matt Jones. Solid QB at Ark who was taken in the first as a WR because he was big and ran a fast 40.

JeMarcus Russell and Trubisky were both horrible picks

Players like Manziel who play ad hoc football never succeed in the NFL. Knew before his senior year he'd be a bust.

Name a Carolina Panther pick, any pick.
Does LSU field a QB position?

Jake Locker, Vince Young, Marcus Mariota.
I’d say frick you Bud Adams, but he overruled Fisher…who wanted Kevin Carter over Steve McNair in the ‘95 draft.
So, he can kindly frick you me back. RIP in peace.

Tua was doomed to be a monster bust

He got hurt and Flynn plays most of the game

Fair point but the result of that game was more due to Jimbos play calling and poor officiating than Russell. He passed for 269 yards and no picks in that game.

Tua vs Joe Burrow in their first 18 games in the pros (Excludes Tua's debut where he took 3 snaps in a blowout)
Tua
10-7 as a starter
67% completion
3750 yards
223 yards per game passing (Does not include Bills and Ravens game this year. Tua played a half total in these games)
6.8 ypa
23 tds
11 ints
Burrow
6-11-1 as a starter
66% completion
5185 yards
293 yards per game passing (Does not include 2020 Washington game that Burrow left early in the 3rd due to injury)
7.5 ypa
33 td
16 ints
Obviously Burrow has been notably better via stats and eye test. But why is one hailed as a sure-fire pro bowler and franchise QB and the other a monster bust? I'm sure it has something to do with Burrow having a bad offensive line and major leg surgery
