My company just withdrew the vaccine requirement

We were one of the first to make it mandatory and I was the only one on my immediate team to hold out and stand my ground. I did get a religious exemption, but now the requirement is gone after people have quit and been fired. We have over 200,000 employees, I don't know how many left or were fired over this. I'm sure there will be law suits.

I think my company got cold feet and decided to wait and see what happened in the courts.

I wonder what the liability is for the company should an employee forced to take the "vaccine" suffer a major adverse effect.
My cousin lost most of his hearing after his second shot though he's retired. Someone working for a corporation who suffered a permanent disability like that should have legal recourse.

That's awesome.

Imagine being a CEO and following HR's demands from the executive branch with no authority to implement a mandate.
Civics is dead in this country.

What would truly piss me off would be if the drug manufacturer and the US Gvt passed along their liability to employers. So infuriating to me the way the Progs put all their totalitarian fantasies on to businesses. What they can’t mandate they mandate businesses to mandate. I hate the outsourcing of tyranny. It makes me the most furious

A bunch of CEOs will rejoice that they were able to trim some fat from their companies with government approval and reward themselves with bonuses and stock options.
It's a win/win for them. They can appear to have had their hands forced, and seem magnanimous when the mandates are lifted - acting as if they really cared about their employees.

My company is requesting that all employees register their vaccination status and scan in copies of their vaccination cards to prepare for the January 4th vax mandate deadline. This initiative is to prepare for the POSSIBILITY that the courts do not overturn the vax mandates. Employees who do not respond will be registered as not vaccinated.

quote:Lawsuits are already being filed in Oklahoma as we speak citing the Civil Rights Act of '64 as the anti-discrimination component against large employers in that state. Oklahoma isn't messing around, besides the governor and AG putting their foot down, the state's national guard adjutant general is also sounding off loudly for lawsuits based in discrimination and wrongful termination.
I'm sure there will be law suits.

As well they should. All companies should take that position.

Same here. First they told us our legal team was finalizing the mandate, and HR asked supervisors and managers to ask employees, anonymously, how many of them were already vaccinated and how many would comply if it was forced.
I know one person in corporate who pretty much tells me the truth any time I ask a question, and he told me that, nationwide, about 30% of employees were already vaccinated. Also, only 10%ish would comply if it was forced. In OK, we have about 100 employees total and about 35% are vaccinated, and 100% of the non-vaxed employees flat out said "you can fire me if you force the shot, I will not comply" (myself included).
At my particular site, three people have taken the shots. The dispatch lady, the plant manager and one guy that works on his own. The rest of us, 19 total (skilled labor [my department] at 2, transportation at 6 and shift labor at 11) have not had the shot and will not take it no matter what.
Pretty sure HR and legal saw what they'd be doing to themselves and completely backed off.

Attorneys rush in where corporations kneel to the woke.
I’ll allow it.

Pretty much zero unless it violated the employees contract/company policies, etc. The have cover from fedgov on the vaccines themselves.
Essentially no one is liable for vaccine injuries in this country.

In the real world, they would be liable.
In our current clown world, they have no liability.

I know you probably can't name your company but what industry is it?
