We have sent quite a few to the portal. Why haven't we pulled 3 or 4 out?

Everything about college football right now is bad.

I blame the NFL and it’s player union. The rule for “3 years removed from HS” is their rule. They should not be relying on college football to be their farm system. They should have used some of their profits and salaries to fund developmental leagues so that those that truly think they are ready to go pro out of HS can. The kids that actually wanted to play college ball under the conditions offered would have no excuses.

Now CFB has this unbelievable mess on its hands that’s only going to get worse. It’s ultimate form will be 10-20 powerhouse programs that will operate like a pro league, the players having no loyalty to the school and less positive fan engagement. You can now legally lure a current player to a rival team with cash. Sorry, but most of the appeal of CFB has been that these players are just kids that chose the same school as you for at least some of the same reasons.

It sucks, but it’s over.

Politards just attribute whatever they don't like to the opposite party even if it doesn't make sense

well between the playoffs, the consolidation of power by the SEC, transfer portal and NIL they have ruined CFB....so at this point the transfer portal is a good thing.

the schools want everything to be like a business but the fans bitch when the players treat it as such. in the end the players need to do whats right for them.

im old school and do not like it but it is what it is.

now want to fix it???

drop scholly limits to 70
can not transfer and accept any nil money the first year
no transfer in conference
must play all P5 schools
expand the playoffs to 12 teams and give every conference champ an auto
limit off the field staff
salary cap on overall coaching pool across the P5
limit total NIL money an individual can earn and any over that goes into a pot of money

last 2 prolly are not doable with out a CBA

in the end...government got involved and did what government does.....destroyed everything they touched.

now these kids are just employees and should treat as such...do whats best for them, just like coaches do.

Good, but running rampant. They need to enforce a 1 year period where you can’t play. This would cut the transfers in half and make to where only the kids who really need to transfer would do so.

Well it’s turned into a shite show. On the one hand with whats going on at LSU and coaching changes I can understand kids wanting out with the uncertainty. It’s not fair to let coaches change jobs at will but the kids have to stay. However, they are going to have to do something. This unlimited transfer rule makes it too easy to leave.

It’s awful IMO. It’s teaching young men and women that it’s ok to be a quitter.

I’m ok with certain circumstances or grad transfers but this has gotten out of hand.

Transfer portal is okay in my opinion. I think with the NIL happening at the same time they created complete anarchy and it will go on for longer than it should. Rules and transparency need to be established. Just throwing money around behind closed doors should not be allowed. everything should be public and open.

Bout time for all of it.

Anyone who says otherwise isn’t a fan of capitalism.

Coaches are allowed to just leave (our coach walked out in his team that had a chance at making the playoffs) so how can we be upset with kids finding the bigger better deal for themselves?

I get that they don't want to waste their eligibility but they also don't want to compete anymore they just go somewhere else if it isn't handed to them. Jalen Hurts did it right. Stayed contributed all he could then made the decision to leave and it worked out for him

At this point, the football players are more like employees than students. They're employees that have to be students as a condition of employment. Let them go where ever they want.

Everyone is on the same footing and has to adjust accordingly.

However, IMO, they need to clarify and tighten up the rules a bit so it’s not just the Wild Wild West. Could get worse before it gets better

frick that.

1. Consolidate the Power 5 to the Power 4.

2. Play 10 conference games per year and have the first and middle week of the season be cross conference challenge weekends.

3. Let the 4 conference champs have a 4 team playoff.

Unless you would never leave your current position for better, more fruitful opportunity, then shut up

Nope. I agree. CFB is a shitshow with NIL and transfer portal.

The portal, NIL, and opt outs have made the game MUCH worse, no question.
