Would love it, but won’t happen. Brian Kelly is way too involved and still calls plays, that would not mesh with Kendal Briles.

Working for Pittman > Working for Kelly

Briles will be our next head coach if he sticks around.

Living here and seeing most of arkies games I’m just not impressed. Weird calls at times that were a waste. You get the good trick plays but the run up the middle on 3rd and long leave you scratching your head.

Why would Briles leave a job where he has a better QB and will make just as much money?

I don't think we have a QB that could run, non-figuratively, what Briles likes.

Besides, people here would come unglued with the trick plays (which he uses to move defenders around and strike deep on 1st downs).

But...
a) he isn't wedded to Pittman or Arky; he'll be your typical mercenary coach and is obtainable IMHO

b) if you get the right personnel, primarily QB, what he's been running at Arky is very close to what CBK ran with Ian Book and what he would rather run is basically what CBK ran at Cinn, just more dink-n-dunk (Briles) than dink-n-chunk (Kelly)

c) "extended warranty transportal" this year... nothing saying we couldn't find the QB needed OR adjust accordingly for what we have and recruit for later.

Briles isn't leaving a loaded offense with a veteran QB for fricking Max Johnson or Nuss. You guys are crazy. He will get a P5 HC job next offseason.

No. Have you watched anything he has done this year? It’s been terrible.
