UFC champion Conor McGregor is reportedly being investigated for “online hate speech” after he expressed anger over the stabbing of 5 people including 3 children and blasted Ireland for their mass migration policies.
Ireland is falling…

I will also add in this thread that Tommy Robinson was arrested today at the march in London

It would be something to see them jail him.

Criminalizing dissent. Wow.

He just needs to call the immigrants oppressors and they’ll leave him alone……

Boy this is one of those things that could set off a revolution, arrest a national figure for defending children. Hope it does

what do they do if they have to arrest everybody

I just hope he doesn't buckle under the pressure the state will surely put on him. The worst thing would be if he apologized or "walked back" his rhetoric.

Plenty of vids showing Pal supporters doing things, but cops in the UK politely asking them to stop, not laying hands on anyone, etc...
It only goes one way. Always.

If he stands firm and they do by chance arrest him then he could call his shots in Ireland from then on

I asked the other day if Ireland had these stupid laws too, I guess so.
This is the kind of person that needs to keep standing up to fight this shite. Hope he sticks to his guns.
Sad thing is that Im old enough to remember when our govt would chastise countries for doing this kind of garbage.

I’ve been reading a lot of Irish media.
They are coming for him. Hard.
Every article about him paints him to sound like Hitler. Moves and pressure are being taken to cancel him; his sponsors are being attacked and scrutinized by the media. Fighters, managers, and promoters of these fight matches, ones that don’t even involve him, are being swarmed with reporters demanding people go on the record and denounce him and swear to cut ties with him. These people are tired of it, they’re like “look I don’t want to talk about Conor.” But it’s relentless.
The government says they are using cctv to track down every protester and rioter who was on the streets. They will be arrested, prosecuted, and given 10 year prison sentences. No more demonstrations will be allowed. There is a heavy police presence in Dublin.
Every article refers to the outbreak of disturbance and violence as hate filled, right wing xenophobia.
This is all the description the media typically uses regarding the stabbing spree. An uninformed reader would have no idea why any of the events would be happening…
There is a tremendous, concerted effort over there by the government and the media to stamp this down now, quickly, and forcibly. They don’t want this to build.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn refused to discuss his company’s relationship with the Conor McGregor-owned Forged Irish Stout at the official Katie Taylor/Chantelle Cameron press conference last night. Forged Stout’s involvement as a sponsor in last night’s epic encounter came under scrutiny in the wake of comments made by McGregor on social media, particularly during the riots in Dublin city centre on Thursday. He did not attend the fight in the 3Arena.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee said: “34 people arrested, there were many of these didn’t cover their faces, they came in and caused havoc, that CCTV will be gone through, and they will be apprehended. And we have very strong legislation – up to 10 years in prison.” Asked if, as Justice Minister, she failed to foresee an event like this or to realise how dangerous these anti-immigration protesters could be, she replied: "This is a small group of people, not a large faction of society, they have one aim and it's to wreak havoc. They're criminals and thugs, they'll be put in prison”.
Every article refers to the outbreak of disturbance and violence as hate filled, right wing xenophobia.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris blamed the riots on a “complete lunatic faction driven by far-right ideology”.

quote:
A clean-up is still being carried out across the north-inner-city this afternoon as the capital comes to terms with the violent scenes, looting and chaos in the aftermath of the stabbing of three children and a woman outside a school earlier in the day. A female creche worker and a five-year-old girl are in a serious condition after the incident on Parnell Square. Two other children suffered lesser injuries. A man, who is currently under guard, also suffered injuries during the incident. He is currently in an unnamed hospital in the city.
quote:
In a statement, President Micheal D Higgins said “The gardaí deserve all of our support in dealing with this incident. This appalling incident is a matter for the gardaí and that it would be used or abused by groups with an agenda that attacks the principle of social inclusion is reprehensible and deserves condemnation by all those who believe in the rule of law and democracy.”
There is a tremendous, concerted effort over there by the government and the media to stamp this down now, quickly, and forcibly. They don’t want this to build.
