Watching Christmas movies the last few nights reminded me how superior 1990s wallpaper was compared to the plain painted walls of today.

Bring it back!

I actually like today's open floor minimalist concept. Those old houses, like the Home Alone house, always looked and felt so damn cluttered.

Screw that. I just spent a weekend removing that 90's wallpaper and it was a pain in the arse.

After having kids, I hate open floor plans. I cant even hear myself think sometimes. My only escape is bedroom or outside. Make Separate Rooms Great Again.

Those are not 90’s wallpapers, those are 70’s wallpapers, the house was just never updated.

This. I'll never have an open kitchen again. Pantry kitchens for the win.

Wallpaper is great in other's houses. I gets old, discolored and really old stuff is difficult to remove, even with a removal steamer.

I remember my grandparents had two living rooms, the front one sat unused 99% of the time.

One thing I remember about the 90s is that every house seemed to be dark AF inside. I like the open floor, light colors of today.

Thank God my house was built in 2002 before the wide-open floor plan concept had taken over.

I absolutely love my Study/Office, especially during the holidays. Even my father-in-law knocks on the door before he slides into a chair with his coffee & newspaper for some time away from the kids, dogs, ladies and constant freaking noise.

Wallpaper is actually very in style right now and has been the past 5 or so years.

It’s just popular in bathrooms and closets. Not entire house.

I have it in my bathroom.

I absolutely despise open floor plan. I get the appeal, but it ain’t for me.

This will be me very soon.

Our home's previous owner put up some of that "French Country" early-2000's era wallpaper up in the kitchen. We are remodeling the house 1 room at a time, it's the kitchen's turn, we start pulling that ugly arse wallpaper.. under that, is the original mid-90's fruit pattern wallpaper.

NO

I just spent a few months removing it from walls in our house. I hate the stuff. It looks good on a tv set because you cant see the tears, dogears, yellowing...

I still have a few bathrooms and closets with it and can't wait to make it go away.

Our last 3 have been open but our retirement home that I will start framing next fall will not be open. I hate the whole concept and the wife has finally admitted it is a shitty way to live. Hearing the dishwasher running all the time is annoying as hell. Even the quite ones are loud as frick.

Closets???

Who the hell cares what the walls in a closet look like?

THis is what watching all that home makeover and HGTV bullshite has done.

You don't have the coziness with open floor plans. There needs to be many walls.

Just tell her to stop talking when she is washing dishes.
