I’d hope my family loves me enough to do the same for me if I needed it.

Not possible. Every hospital I have entered has a gun free zone sign on the door.

Must be a bad hospital if they couldn't save him

It baffles me how people are not allowed to go out on their own terms in a medically oversen, safe and humane way - especially those that have terminal conditions.

So, the only way out are gruesome, traumatic events, that cause even more pain for surviving family and friends.

Stupid.

You can go to Canada for that. They advertise it.

I agree people should be allowed to do this, but the flip side of this is what's going on in Canada which is pretty disgusting IMO

Well Canada is fricking retarded and shouldn’t be hailed as a standard of anything.

If you, as an adult in a free world, are diagnosed with an incurable and terminal disease, you should be able to say “hey I’m good right now and sound of mind but in 6mo when I’m bed ridden and am a burden on my family because this disease took control of me, please let me go peacefully.”

But medical and pharmaceutical companies don’t get money from that. They profit from your suffering.

They do. It's called an Advance Directive and Hospice Care. You can easily opt for sheer pain control only and go out in an opiod induced haze. You can't have people kill you, but you can have people not interfere with fate and simply make it easy.

No dignity in that, and expensive.
Better way is euthanasia.

No...no, thank you.

So, you have to be kept alive, but in the "opioid haze" while your family has to keep paying for it and see you waste away?

Yeah, sounds great.

Didn’t take long for someone to bring NOLA into this

If I ever become a burden on my family I want to go out on my own terms and have told my family as much. It should be an option but likely never will be here.
