McDonalds sued for not advertising enough with black-owned media

McDonald’s must face $10 billion racial discrimination suit from media group

McDonald’s will have to defend itself against a $10 billion lawsuit from media mogul Byron Allen over an allegation that the fast food chain doesn’t advertise with Black-owned media.
quote:
Allen said in a press release that only a small portion — about $5 million of McDonald’s $1.6 billion annual advertising budget — goes to Black-owned media and that the company has “refused to advertise” on his networks, which include the Weather Channel and Comedy.TV.
quote:
“This is about economic inclusion of African American-owned businesses in the US economy,” Allen said in the press release. “McDonald’s takes billions from African American consumers and gives almost nothing back. The biggest trade deficit in America is the trade deficit between White corporate America and Black America, and McDonald’s is guilty of perpetuating this disparity.”
quote:
In response, McDonald’s lawyer Loretta Lynch, who was US attorney general during the Obama administration, said that the evidence will show that the company doesn’t discriminate and that Allen’s claims are “meritless.”

I’m curious about the implications of this. Can the government mandate that businesses spend a certain percentage of their budget on a particular race of people?

I can't remember the last time I saw a McDonalds ad without black actors

Even with the puppet masters of This Administration being involved in media, like Soros, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't try to implement something like you're asking.

That’s because they are exploitative and racists at the same time.

$10 billion? I’m surprised this hasn’t been struck down as a frivolous suit.

They're not required to give anything back. People trade dollars for hamburgers and that's the end of it.

Already getting their money, why should they spend more money to receive the same amount they allegedly get for free?

Maybe the profit from the milk shake machines was supposed to go to advertising with black owned media.

Who watches commercials anymore?

Reading is hard.
Still a money grab lawsuit though.

Why should they?
Blacks flock there with what little advertising they do there anyway.

They get a Quarter Pounder with fries just like white consumers.

Nobody owes you dick, motherfricker. Tell your corporate black brothas and sistas to pick up the slack. Does FUBU spend a certain percentage of its profits with you?
Byron, You ever researched what percentage of blacks make up TWC’s audience?
y’all can boycott McDs. Quit buying fast food from them. Oh that’s right, your black brothers and sisters will tell you GFYS if you try to get them to boycott McDs. So much for solidarity.

Byron Allen is just a more powerful & richer version of the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton shakedown artist's who say give me money & we won't protest. And thrown in a blonde white wife on top of that.

bullshite McDs would even need to spend money defending this.
Advertising is essentially an investment. You expect a return on the dollars spent.
Weather channel is not something people traditionally stay through the commercials. And Comedy.TV is not Comedy Central.
There are no eyeballs on this media groups channels. This has nothing to do with discrimination. This is the commercial version of playing the race card. Winning this suit would do nothing for “Black America”. It would only help Byron Allen. Sadly and ironically, this is exactly why the black community struggles to accumulate wealth relative to nearly every other race. They exploit each other, particularly when it comes to cashing in on racial inequity where there are very few winners.
