Oldest surviving. Most Indian mounds were used to build road in the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

When I was a kid I slide down those on a piece of cardboard. If that doesn’t make you think.

Damn I rolled down those once. Could have been me.

Are they off limits now? I used to play on 'em when my mom worked at LSU, 30-35 years ago. Didn't somebody run over some people up there?

To think I've been passed out drunk on top of those things

They are no longer referred to as the Indian mounds. LSU and the progressives now refer to them as the mounds.

These findings show that people began to build the first mound about 11,000 years ago.

I’ve seen nicer mounds in the quad.

Also around 8,200 years ago, the northern hemisphere experienced a major climate event with temperatures suddenly dropping on average by about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, which lasted about 160 years.
“And so it is written there was a time around 8,200 years in the past when our people stopped using fossil fuels in our Flintstone cars. This beset a great cooling of our people….and so it is told.”

Yes mid to late 80’s or early 90’s. A drunk driver ran over a couple that were hanging out on the mounds. LSU installed brick ledge around them after this incident.

I heard the found "baw" and "choot 'um, Lizabeth" wrote on a petrified tee pee.
