Ole Miss will flop every 3rd play while on defense starting at the end of the 2nd quarter. They used this tactic successfully against Tennessee and will definitely use it to slow down LSU momentum and to give their inferior defense a breather. This effective tactic extended the game last Saturday by an hour. It will be very frustrating to watch.

I would expect the SEC to look into ways to curtail the flop after this season, and I think it fits Lane Kiffins personality to a T.

Agreed. I forget who said it on the radio the other night (I think it was Palmer but not certain) that the player should be out for the entire series, not just the down.

It would at least be a good starting point. I have to agree. Fake an injury, you're out for the series. You don't come back until your team has the ball again.

But how do you 'prove' they were faking an injury? But it would at least be a point to start at.

Like you said, it makes the game last forever and this game is already on CBS so you're talking about almost a 4+ hour game because they have to have a million commercials.

Probably one of the good things about our power counter play is flopping doesn’t really stop us.

CBS broadcast is 4 hrs for sure… Commercials after every 3rd play it seems like. Sometimes 1 play then a not so quick commercial break..

Don't need to prove it...if they are really injured they are not coming back in right away...either faking it or not they should not be allowed back in until the next series...

This faking an injury then coming back in the next play has got to stop...

If the Tigers run the ball like they did against Florida, those defenders won’t be faking.

Every team does that shite dude. LSU was doing it against Texas. I hate when people try to act like their team doesn’t do that. Until they make a rule for it teams will do it.

My resolution is, if a player goes down to stop play a team has a choice. Either burn a TO or that player has to sit out a whole quarter. If it’s the end of the game then he sits the rest of that game and time for the next game. If it’s a championship in crunch time, the opposing team gets a free first down. Enough is enough.

Basically the same concept that NHL uses with the penalty box.

Simple. Each team gets three injury timeouts per game. When an injured player cannot get off the field the team is charged. After that, they are charged an actual timeout. Once out of actual timeouts they are penalized 15 yards.

I think that any defensive player that is injured (fake or real) that requires the clock to stop and action delayed should not be allowed to participate again until the opponent’s next offensive possession.

If you’re injured enough to require on-field medical assistance, you’re injured enough to sit out the rest of that series ... you know, for safety reasons. That would put an end to this shite with quickness.

Many teams use this, including LSU. Granted we haven't had to fake injuries much this year because we've had a ton of real ones. I hope the SEC looks into ways to stop this like making a player who goes down with an injury stay out for the remainder of that drive or something to that effect. It's gotten out of hand.

shite's getting as bad a soccer with all the flopping.

Saw a game last weekend where the defender just slowly squatted down on the field then laid himself out. When he finally got his big arse up and headed to the sidelines, it looked like he was walking just fine.

Worst acting job award should go to that guy.
