The end of the 2nd quarter through Ron Brooks’ pick 6 in the 3rd quarter is one of the best in game stretches of football LSU has ever played.
LSU went from up 7-3 to 42-3 in 12 minutes.
Jefferson and Lee both throwing bombs for TDs. Really innovative misdirection play calling. Nuking people on kickoff returns. Capped off by a pick 6.

We could use a Ron Brooks

That D-Line. More sacks in that highlight than all 6 games this year.

We could use that entire secondary. So much star power there

Jarvis would probably be arrested immediately for those hits nowadays

like the 2002 game against carolina. we were down 14-3 at half. we destroyed them in the 3rd quarter and won 38-14.

There were some grown arse men on that defense. Shows just how far we need to go to get back to that point. Other than maybe Perkins I can't think of another current defensive player that would have a chance of seeing the field.

Honestly, I would be happy if we had just one of the players from that secondary. Preferably badger, of course. But any would do.

So that’s what a D looks like!!! Watching that is like watching coverage of JFK’s last motorcade knowing how it all ends.

That was a great stretch just destroyed them.
That 11 team was so fun until the new year

I could be wrong but I believe that Simon and Matthieu were suspended for that game which is why Brooks was starting at corner. He was normally our Nickel.
That’s how deep that team was. Brooks was like our fourth best corner and he played in the league for several years. And we had Jarvis Landry running down on KO coverage to smoke people.

Mathieu and Ware definitely were for sure

Man. Those highlights gave me the sads. To only have defensive players like that now. We haven't seen that nastiness in a while.
This was also the Kenny Hilliard coming out party.
I also attended this game.

2011 Arkansas was that game for me. LSU got in a hole 14-0 in the second quarter. We were in the south endzone and there was a drunk Hog fan (FTR most Hog fans there were generally easy to get along with) who was yelling "What's going on every time Arky did something good/scored or if LSU's drive stalled or the fumble that resulted in their second touchdown.
Then when LSU scored everyone in the area shouted "what's going on?"
TM7 runs a punt back 92 yards for a TD to tie it up, "what's going on?"
Hogs fumble and LSU recovers "What's going on?"
LSU scores to take the lead before half "what's going on?"
By the middle of the 3rd qtr, the guy got up and left

My kids who were at that game with us still talk about it, both have now graduated from LSU and both were students in 2019 (which is really cool for this old man). I am almost certain that was the game that sealed my son's determination to go to LSU.
I also loved the LSU-Arky game the Friday after thanksgiving, wish that was still a thing TBH.

This is what I remember most from that game.
I almost started to feel bad for Auburn. Almost.
I think 2011 is my second favorite team all time, even though they lost the big one.
Such a fun season. That was power football and I miss the way the game was played then.

That game was one of the most complete games I've seen LSU play. Offense, defense and special teams were on fire. It was murder ball. LSU took auburn's soul that day.

The game that kept Badger out of New York. Great game and loved seeing Brooks get an opportunity to shine, but no way Mathieu isn’t at least invited if he plays in that game.
