Iowa 4-12: Began the game by loading the bases, then 3 straight Ks by Brecht. Cooper started and gave up 5 runs on 7 hits, plus a throwing error and a balk, in 3 IP. We had 4 hits the entire game, but left 14 on base.
Texas A&M Gm3 6-8:
Up 6-4 going to B8. Little came into a 2 on no out jam and walked a guy to load the bases, struck out 2, then walked in a run and 2 singles to give up the lead.
Arkansas Gm1 3-9 (10):
Pitchers duel. Morgan thrown out at home on a wild pitch. Jobert picked at 1st with 2 on. 1-1 going to the 10th. Little gave a 4 pitch walk, homer, single, single before being pulled. Helmers ended up allowing a sac fly and a grand slam too.
Tennessee Gm3 7-14:
First 9 got on without an out. 10 runs allowed in the first 2 innings. Hurd 0.0 IP, 6 ER. Cooper 6 ER too.
South Carolina Gm1 5-13:
Rain delay ended Skenes night early. Bucknam and Hellmers gave up 10 ER.
Kentucky Gm2 10-13:
LSU was in control. A Tommy White error kept the 5th going. Then Jobert overran a flyball by 10 ft allowing 3 runs in. 6-2 lead flipped to a 7-6 deficit and the wind was out of the sails.
ULL 5-8:
2 errors plus 2 flyballs lost in the lights. Hurd didn’t pitch well. Cooper pitched poorly. LSU was 4-23 with runners on.
Nicholls 5-6:
5 miraculous plays in the field. Base running error for the final out. LSU had 2 hits until the 6th. We chased an auto out to the dugout allowing a run. Allowed another run on an error not catching a throw to home when they held the runner.
Auburn Gm2 6-8:
Ump show in the 4th led to an ejection, 5 walks, a wild pitch and 3 runs.
Auburn Gm3 2-12 (8):
Little started and walked 4, 1 hit, 5 ER in 0.0 IP. Offense only had 2 runs on 6 hits. 3 errors.
Miss St Gm2 4-9:
Up 4-2 in the 8th. Hurd gave up 3 hits, a walk and 5 runs in the 8th.
Miss St Gm3 13-14 (10):
Offense scored 13 runs through 5, but 0 the rest of the day. Little gave up 3 hits, 1 BB, 4 ER in 0.1 IP when called on to protect a 13-4 lead. 9 pitchers used and they were all bad that day.
Georgia Gm3 5-9:
Tommy White error with 2 outs let in a run. Dutton gave up 3 runs. Little walked 3 with a double mixed in. Offense left 12 on base.
Arkansas SECT 4-5:
Didn’t score runs. 4 runs on 11 hits. Over ran 3rd to give an out. Dropped a tag at 2nd that led to Arkansas’ 5 runs in the 4th. Unfortunate infield shifts as well. ETA: Catcher’s interference in the 4th.
Texas A&M SECT 4-5:
Didn’t score runs. 4 runs on 12 hits. Jones called out at 2nd when clearly safe. Runner on 3rd with 0 out in 4th - didn’t score. Runner on 3rd with 0 out in 5th - didn’t score. Tying run on 3rd with 1 out in 9th - didn’t score.
10 of those games could have been wins. Probably should have been.

So don’t let little pitch. Got it.
Also jones was out at second. He came off the base

And I'm willing to bet 10 of our wins could have been losses.
You are what your record says you are.

#99 entering the game is a common theme when it comes to losses/leads blown.
The bats “getting outside their plan” for multiple innings had also been a repetitive undoing. We are going to need a major influx of clutch hitting to show back up to avoid the runners left on base curse that has plagued this team ever since the schedule got “easier.”

You left out the important part. Umpire called catchers interference leading directly to three runs. The batter on the interference was not in the batters box and that caused the interference.
The umpires decided that game. Cheating

South Carolina Gm 2
Ole Miss Gm 3
UGA Gm 1
Maybe Kentucky Gm 2
Tennessee Gm 2 we scored 3 in the 8th to break a 2-2 tie.
The rest were pretty easy Ws.

Edwards, Shores, and Taylor are the missing pieces.

Keep Little off the bump...profit.

If 2/4 of Shores, Edwards, Taylor, and Noot aren’t injured this team is 23-7 in the SEC. That being said, Hurd was a huge disappointment relative to expectation, and to a lesser extent so was Floyd, for most of the year. Little went from serviceable to absolute liability.

Nice job putting that together... shows why a Tulame team could come in here and cause some havoc! I sure hope not, and hope the Tigers come to pitch, hit, and field!

Yeah and we won some games we should’ve lost like Ole Miss

While I agree that was the biggest part of that loss, it’s more missed call than it was cheating. The mitigating factor of his foot outside the box is extremely difficult to pick up in real time and there is no replay angle that shows it well enough. And yes, I saw all of the screen captures.

I hate saying this but simply not putting Little in the game probably gets you 3 more wins. I am curious what the bullpen numbers look like for the last three weeks if you take Little’s numbers out.

So what you are saying is will be a struggle to get out of the baton rouge regional is basically what you are saying when at first Part of the season Lsu cruised to a 29 -5 win loss ratio in the earlier part the season.

So less walks and more focus at the plate with runners in scoring position
Posted on 6/1/23 at 5:12 am to lsu711
Kinda offsets many of the wins that could, and should, have been losses. That’s baseball.

People forget just how good of a season we had. Yes we had some tough losses especially lately finishing 5-7 the last 12 games but this team still had a very good year and I am looking forward to how this team performs this weekend.
