Blew a 17 point lead to Georgia Tech in the second round and they went to the final 4 instead of us.

Georgia Tech was well balanced and more seasoned.

2 juniors who actually played and the rest were freshman and sophomores. They lost to and Georgia Tech team who also had NBA players, but also had veteran leadership.

BS. Dale was close several times with inferior teams. This team and a few others all lost to the eventual national champions.

Dale Brown. Plain and simple. Dude could recruit but couldn’t coach in crucial games.

I was in school at that time and it is amazing that basketball was KING at LSU. Baseball was making the CWS, but not winning it yet, and football was about to enter the shitter for quite a few years. Basketball games were the biggest ticket and the PMAC was always packed.

He had some good runs. Just felt like he had a hard time winning when a favorite. Much better in the underdog role.

Don't confuse them with facts, most of them don't know jack about those teams or Dale Brown but just like fellating Will Wade they think it is cool to dump on Dale.

We were staying in the team hotel in Knoxville for that Regional where we lost to GT. CJ's doctor changed CJ's meds that week and CJ was very sickly and made no real contribution that Saturday versus GT. I think he only got 4-8 points in that game, his worst output while at LSU.
I firmly believe that, had CJ been OK, we would have made the FF that season.
