It’s not the 12 million. It’s the million more for assistants.

Hell, I don't think he's worth that much either.

Nick $aban has a championship ring for every finger and half his toes, and doesn't make that much.

Not my money though.

OU folks have a lot to lose currently with this information. Serves them best to stay quiet about it as they go into a top 10 matchup with their rival with a title game spot on the line

OU doesn’t have the horses to compete with us. they have a nice stable, not the thoroughbreds. and isn’t OU notorious for treading a fine line between frugality and insulting coaches?

From what boomers are saying on their boards is that the most they can/have/will offer him is 10 million a year, I honestly think they let him walk if he asks for a dime more

How can they counter now if he's signed on the dotted line? Do you think Wooody is going to vacation if he doesn't have his coach's signature yet?

Woody would be on him like white on rice right now if he didn't have his signature.

I’d be shocked if these negotiations leave this as an option.

When you sign a contract of this magnitude, and (to be fair) I’ve never signed one more than 10% of this reported deal, we always put a “poisoned pill” in them.

In other words, a clause that read something to the effect, “once signed if signee doesn’t not meet said terms, than signee owes $$$$$$$$$$$$” This amount is usually enough to stop anyone from backing out.

Customary language in the deals I signed with those companies. I’m sure they are in these deals as well.

I agree, but it really doesn’t matter what they try if he’s settled it with his wife. Once that’s been done it’s done. So is it really done, yet? Who knows.
Only his wife knows for sure.
After the last time with Jimbo/Herman being a “done deal”, and ending up with Orgeron, I’m waiting this one out. I still have ptsd.

Alright Mr.Tigerbait1977, I want to believe. I really do. If the deal is done, when will the announcement be? Assuming OU loses tomorrow, I would say Sunday? Monday at the latest?
