Losers

LSU. Fired Les Miles (career winning percentage: .721). Whiffed on Jimbo Fisher (career winning percentage: .819). Whiffed on Tom Herman (career winning percentage: .846). Hired Ed Orgeron (career winning percentage: .420). But he’s a Louisianan, by golly.

Les Miles. Fired in September, the national championship winner had months to pitch himself to schools. To this point, nobody is catching what he’s been pitching. It looks highly likely that Miles will sit out 2017.

LSU will continue to underwhelm as long as Alleva is in charge.

an opinion article on Yahoo Sports - how will we ever recover?

meh - i'll wait and see who the OC is and how the class finishes out, then get excited for Spring ball, then power through the summer, then get pumped for fall camp reports then watch the tigers play some games under O. An opinion article on Yahoo in December of the prior year won't matter much in the long run. SPIN THAT!!

So what does this say about Les Miles? they show his winning precentage but yet no one hired him? LSU looks bad because their search really wasnt a search. It was all in on Jimbo and thats why LSU looks bad. Herman may have stayed at Houston one more year to get his dream job "Texas". I think the thing that stings the most is LSU would offer Coach O a five year contract.
Give him 4 with an option for 5 based on performance.
LSU was right in firing Miles , as his current unemployment backs that up, but LSU leardership failed in not bringing in other coaches for interviews especially with all the time they had after the firing of Miles. I think thats why LSU is seen as a loser not just based on hiring Coach O. as HC.

no, LSU looks bad bc they were the one power school to get a 2 month head start on everyone else and still ended up with their DL interim coach.

Exactly. And we could have easily taken another week after it was realized Herman was heading to Texas to evaluate options. We did not have to default to hiring a coach no other school would even interview. We also should have had other plans in place and discussions with other coaches going. This search was clearly mishandled.

Yeah totally agree at least have 3 or 4 guys come in. I think LSU knew they owed all this money to miles and could not afford to pay a coach 5 or 6 million a year on top of miles remaining contract. I mean if Coach O interviewed better than so be it but not bringing in anyone looks really bad.

Some national guy was on the Sirius XM College show last week and they asked him this question. He said the biggest loser by a mile was LSU

He ripped into LSU for a full 4-5 minutes. He said "How do you have a top 3 job and give it to a DL coach who has a horrible winning % as a HC." He added that if LSU was off the table, would any of the other openings have wanted to interview O for a HC job?

It was really depressing but also true.

well it's no surprise considering that LSU is the one school in america that lets emotions interfere with its business decisions.

Getting rid of that bumbling idiot Miles was a win.
The hire of O... well that was a loss.
