LSU. Fired Les Miles (career winning percentage: .721). Whiffed on Jimbo Fisher (career winning percentage: .819). Whiffed on Tom Herman (career winning percentage: .846). Hired Ed Orgeron (career winning percentage: .420). But he’s a Louisianan, by golly.

Yahoo? I'm surprised they can afford a writer.

If I was a recruit and happened to read TD, I'd run as fast as I can to another program. What I would learn here is that LSU has the worst coach in college football. The LSU football is headed back to the horrible 90s.That LSU fans hate their coach and have no hope for the future. If I'm Dylan Moses or any other recruit why wouldn't I commit somewhere else. Tiger droppings can convince any kid that LSU is a disaster that should be avoided.

The negativity is oppressive. Many of you need to take a break, get a fresh perspective. The group think in here is ridiculous. LSU will be fine. Maybe we didn't get a flashy hire but we've made upgrades at HC and soon OC and special teams. It's a great time to be a Tiger. Recruits, come on down.

We'll be fine... we're in better shape Game1 2017 under O than we would be under Miles.

I didn't like the O hire, but our program has improved relative to Miles IMO. Personally I think Alleva deserves to lose his job, but I actually do feel pretty confident that O will have success at LSU.

I'm impressed this article is called "news". It seems a bit old to me.

I did not have O in my top 3 or 4 picks. But to keep harping and weeping about it weeks later? C'mon. Granted, the man has a horrible HC record a decade ago. In the same vein-- he recruited well enough for his predecessor to be successful.

Recently O has been successful at not one, but 2 interim gigs. He is holding recruiting class together, albeit by a thread-- still top 5. If class finishes in top 15-- it will be on par with Saban and Miles' first year at LSU.

My course-- support, cheer and hope things fall for the Tigers-- good freshman class, good OC and LSU competes for NC. if O and the Tigers stumble-- it might be perfect timing for a new upcoming hotshot HC-- some even say PJ Fleck.

Remember, we got Steele, first-- then things worked out great-- we got Aranda.

This is a good post

I didn't really want the O hire, but to hear all the sky is falling, everything is horrible, nothing will ever be right again fans is just pathetic.

We're about to hire a really good OC. We have a proven, great DC.

We have some good pieces coming back next year.

We will be alright

the only hires we could have made that would have impressed them would have been Herman or Jimbo and neither were coming. If we hired Fedora don't you think they would be saying the same things?

I don't think O will be terrible. My problem is still with Alleva and the lack of a coaching search. It feels like a Larry Coker hire.

These types of rankings are kind of like grading a draft before any of the draftees have played a down in the NFL. This year's draft would already look completely different less than 7 months later. Let's wait a couple of years before we declare O a disaster.

On the other hand, the coaching "search" wasn't a search at all. I don't have a huge problem with Alleva calling the bluff of the two agents, but there was more than one coach that wanted the job. Unfortunately, a true search wasn't conducted to identify a list of established and successful coaches that would love to come to LSU.

A competent AD should have even gauged the interest & vetted someone like PJ Fleck. He might not have the experience now, but might be the perfect candidate 3 years from now when LSU is desperately searching for a coach again. It would be nice to have at least a little bit of a head start. Alleva had two months this year and he wasted everyday for 2 months.
