They fired Franklin early and are down to Heupel or Sitake? They didn't seem to have a plan.

Deboer

And, no, I am not joking.

Once Bama is out.

He will be at PSU.

It is really starting to look like Deboer is there guy. They have been so quiet this entire coaching cycle.

They want Hartline, but I think Sitake would do well enough to piss some folks in the B10 off most years.

Too quiet.

If it were Hartline, they could announce now saying he’s joining after OSU is done.

They have not.

Deboer is their guy.

Don’t see it. He has no ties to Penn state and has done enough so far to not piss off the boosters.

Probably smart on his part. That place is a powder keg. He’s pretty close to finding out first hand just how psychotic gumps really are.

Heupel
Riley
DeBoer
Sitake

I believe they are going to make a strong push for one of the above.

Sitake works at byu. Why fire Franklin to hire sitake?

They better hope they get a coach the caliber of deboer or heupel.

That would have been announced already.

Why would they have to wait to announce that? Seems like everyone on both sides would be amicable about the guy taking a major promotion, coaching the playoffs, and then heading to Penn State afterwards. If that was the move, there are no negatives to announcing it now.

If they hire Hartline or somehow manage to swing DeBoer, PSU will come out on top

Is he unhappy at Alabama is the pressure too much

What’s the scoop with him leaving?

Going from Alabama to Penn State is not a lateral move in my opinion

So what would be the reason?

This might be in play more than we think. I read that BYU athletic director has been pretty wishy washy on more $ for staff/NIL, focusing more on basketball.

Plus, BYU went 11-1 with the sole loss to the #5 in the country and is still on the outside of the playoff. That has to be frustrating. Whereas even 10-2 in the Big 10 is a lock for the playoff. The Big 12 does not carry the same weight.

Sitake has been there for 10 or so years. I wonder if he’s hit a ceiling there.
