Tulane coach Willie Fritz has spoken with Arkansas about its coaching job, a source told CBS Sports on Tuesday. Fritz is also expected to discuss the opportunity at Missouri this week. The Tigers' opening is considered the coach's "dream job," according to the same source.

Fritz, 59, is 22-27 in four seasons with the Green Wave. He led Tulane to a 6-6 record in 2019 after taking it to a Cure Bowl last season, the program's second bowl game in the last 17 years

Tulane now's your chance to do what you should have done in '98- Rich Rod

A guy with a 22-27 record shouldn’t get an interview

I don't think you realize how good that is at Tulane

He's actually done a very good job, I like him as a coach.

If he leaves Tulane I really hope Tulane makes a smart hire.

I agree. He was a hot commodity earlier in the year but Tulane really sucked once they got into conference and started playing decent teams. He doesn’t really move the needle for a struggling Power 5 program, plus his system would get fricked against athletic SEC defenses.

This has real potential to be this year’s most deflating, uninspiring, disappointing hire.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one.

Kim Anderson won the Division 2 National Title in basketball and could barely get 5 guys on the court in D1.

This tells me he's frustrated that he can't beat top 25 AAC West teams. He wants out.

I know the AAC West is a strong division, but the SEC is x150 worse.

He’s going to look like a dick if he gets passed over and winds up having to stay at Tulane. His agent shouldn’t have leaked this honestly

On his very best days, in his very best years, he’s Jim Donnan.

Great point, 22-27 has to be taken into context.
Since 1952, Tulane has had one coach finish above .500, Tommy Bowden who coached there for two seasons.

Some of their other coaches who couldn't reach .500 @Tulane include coaches would go on to coach at Stanford (Buddy Tevens), Texas (Mack Brown), and USC/Missouri (Larry Smith)

Yeah but Tulane will happily keep him.
Dude is a good coach and this is his dream job

I don't think he gets it but you have to interview

Arkansas fans found this in their own by tracking our Ads flights. He was in Pullman area late last night and today. Was in Boca before and New Orleans before that.

Also went to Boone, NC area to interview Drinkwitz and/or Clawson.

He's gotten Tulane to two bowl games in a row.

I think the next step is a lower level Power 5 job.

Guess what? Arky and Mizzou are lower level Power 5 jobs!

Gotta hand it to Arky fans. They track flights better than the CIA
