uhhh, Verges first call was to Saban. Discussions were fairly serious. Kiffin was our second choice, and Nick was assisting

Yes, Saban was the first call, but I think more out of crossing that off of the list. Obviously, he would be the first call but the confidence that he would come back was never very high from our Administration. Kiffin was our first realistic choice

It makes perfect sense Ole Miss wants him to coach the egg bowl. It’s a must win for them to make the playoff.

and it buys them another week to negotiate

Not gonna lie, I don’t think he’s worth that amount of money but I’m not the one paying him. I’d like to have him as a coach but if it were me, I’d throw 13 mil a year and 25 mil in NIL to Dillingham and let him cook. This is getting ridiculous.

I am feeling more and more like this each day, honestly

He has UF in his name, are you really allowing this?

Sure, that too. But I really don’t think he’s simply going to pick the highest bidder. Even Bruce Feldman said yesterday on his pod this isn’t strictly a money thing for Kiffin.

Not an insider but I have a family member that is very well connected so i'll stick my neck out and share what I heard, last week when all the it is done post started I called this person and he said it was not done but it was looking very positive he then called me Thursday evening and said pretty much done (NOT IT IS DONE), then Friday morning he called and said everything was agreed on in principal by both sides but nothing will come out until sometime next week, he also said quit reading the rant, most of them have no idea lol.

My source stated this 10 days ago (can check post history)...LK and LSU had agreed on contractual terms (these terms/$$ could have changed since then) and that LSU gave LK the green light to finish out the regular season with OM if that is what he wanted and if OM allowed it.

Still won't believe it until ink meets paper!

Thats pretty much what I heard as well.

I am not an insider but I know some guys who know much more than I do about all of this. They could be way TF off but the info has been pretty solid in the past. If it changes and I look like an idiot because I said one thing and another happened, I dgaf. I just like to share what I hear with people on here who love LSU like I do.

Well, my first call was how excited they were that Nick was actually negotiating. At the time Nick was also steering Kiffin away from LSU
quote:

Nick Saban suggests Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for LSU might not be an upgrade

Nick just didt have the heart to get back in, so he went from considering to assisting

Now Kiffin suddenly is a good fit for LSU
quote:

Former LSU head coach Nick Saban has reportedly been advising Kiffin about taking the coaching job with the Tigers.

Regardless of what happens, it’s been pretty impressive how blind the national media reporters have been on this ordeal. No one’s put out anything of substance which doesn’t happen in today’s “got to be first” environment.

While it hasn’t been a secret that LSU wants Kiffin, it’s been rather quiet on the developments of the courting. All things considered, a pretty quiet process.

Tough for the fans but kind of nice for the athletic dept to keep this close until it’s done.

Just don't be surprised if a job opens after this weekend and throws a spanner into the gears. It could be what Sexton is waiting for.

I think he wanted to coach the Egg Bowl

He’s had some questionable history. And I think it’s important for him to finish the regular season. That’s if he’s already made a decision.

The plan was 100% for Lane to sign on Friday. LSU side had already planned on it. The meeting with OM happened and they begged for him to coach the Egg Bowl. LSU and OM agree to allow it. That delayed signing the MOU that LSU believed had already been signed. UF has used the last couple of days to throw out some wild counter offers. LSU countered with its largest and likely final offer. We are talking around $16mil a year with over $32mil in NIL funds. It is still leaning in our favor. UF has actually began talks with Brent Key. I still have my money on Kiffin and love the tenacity we have for getting our first choice, but it is worrisome when you talk about that much money. Anyway, thats all I have at this point.

Ban Bet?

16 million a year?

Lane said it wasn't about the money

you're making it all about the money

Poor Lane was just along for the ride! He and Sexton had no idea that delaying things would leave another week to drive up the price.

Fact is, we got and are getting played

Sounds like you are just making shite up.
