That's fair but why not? If the argument is that almost anyone can win a NC at LSU (Miles and O being the recent examples), then why not hire someone like Napier? By that argument the most important qualities are someone who won't flame out or go off the rails in a few years.

He's young and likely to stick around and his record is good enough to bet that he would at the least do a better job than O or Miles. As long as he's got a clean history and a moral compass, why not make him the next NC winning HC at LSU?

Because he’s not that great of a game day coach and there’s better options out there.

Because the deal is done assuming Riley and Jimbleaux turn it down. Napier knows it and is perfectly fine with it. Woodward is doing due diligence to cover his arse for the “mulkey type of hire” by the big donars. Napier must sit in the corner and wait patiently for his snack…. According to my sauces…
That would be quite a "snack" if true.

Because Culotta doesn't have as big of an audience like he had in 2016

Flight trackers got everyone losing their collective minds thinking Riley is about as sure a thing as we can get.

IF Riley opts to turn down the job, the Napier talk will likely start heating up pretty significantly.

This is absolutely where you’re wrong. Miles beat Mr OU himself twice head to head while he was at Okie St. secondly, he hasn’t proven shite much like Orgeron. This is EXACTLY why people like me were blasting Alleva for even considering him. Lastly, Woodward ISN’T a reactionary little baby who got his feelings hurt. Frankly, he will make the best hire from P5. Nothing else.

HIS JOB DEPENDS ON THIS HIRE AND HE ISN'T TAKING A CHANCE ON AN UNPROVEN COMMODITY THAT HAS BARELY BEATEN TEAMS THIS SEASON WITH FAR LESS TALENT.

This isn’t rocket science. Damn.

What?! Compare resumes, it’s really not close.

Aranda and Napier are likely for “we will settle for this” candidates but SW is whale hunting right now

Gotta get the confirmed no from Riley and Jimbo before we go look that way

If LSU had to go all the way down to the No. 3 Sunbelt Coach, then things are much worse than anyone imagined.

Amen... Napier is great with Sun Belt talent, playing Nichols and Ark St.

He's not getting hired by one of the top 5 or top 10 nationwide programs, nor is he ready.

I think we all believe he is an excellent final fallback plan if everything goes south.

If he's the floor, it's like some nice hardwood floors.

Because there's nothing to say? If Riley and Jimbo fall through it's almost assuredly either Napier or Aranda who will both definitely say yes (sorry that one guy, but I do not believe Dabo was in serious talks for a second). All of these names have been talked about ad nauseum for weeks. Anything that could be said has been said.

And at this very moment of course flight tracker rumors are more fun that repeating the same topic 30 times over.

I am aware of that, but they are a Sun Belt similar program that UL-Breaux Bridge barely beat.
