Why did Ensminger not get the credit he deserved?

All of the Brady love reminded me that Steve Ensminger did not get the credit and respect he deserved for 2019. Some people want to bash on him for 2018 but the 2018 offense was good. Yes there were times they struggled but people forget Joe Burrow was coming to a new team. It is unfair to expect to plug in a brand new QB from outside the program and expect it to hum like a well oiled machine. But by the end of the season they were rolling. It was SE that told O they needed to hire Brady to help them with spread concepts and the passing game. People forget when Cameron was fired with Miles that Ensminger took over LSU immediately started putting up record offensive number while doing it within Cameron's offense. Brady did great bringing the concepts the Saints used here and working with the receivers but it was Ensminger that called most of the plays and coordinated the offense. Despite all of the the media heaped praise on Joe Brady and won him a award that probably should have went to Ensminger.

against shite defenses. stop acting like slinger was some kinda sage OC. he had limitations. he could not score against bama without brady in 2016 or 2018. brady made the difference and our players executed. see E in 2018 and 2020 then brady in 2019. yeah he called plays from bradys pro style spread concepts. you do know brady called plays also right? you think E always called 100% of the plays? LOL

Because Ensminger isn’t young and Ensminger isn’t on the cutting edge. He’s an old pro that learned a lot of football and was able to put that knowledge to use. He knew his limitations and that’s why he recommended O hire Brady. Together they made a great team and coached up the greatest LSU offense ever.

SE should have gotten more credit than he did, but he didn’t care.

Because we saw his offense in 2018…

It sucked.

He didnt want any credit. Slinger is a selfless individual. All about team effort. He also bleeds Tiger Blood. Slinger is a man amongst boys. A modern day Clint Eastwood. A good guy badass.

His offense did not suck in 2018. I wouldn't call it prolific but it wasn't terrible. But Burrow elevated it.

I don't remember what year it was, and don't care enough to look, but I think 2016 may be the year that if Etling/Chark connect on a few deep balls that LSU beats Alabama?

Pretty sure that was the 0-0 until the end of the 4th quarter year. We lost 7-0. I wouldn't exactly say thats a glowing endorsement of Es offense. More of an endorsement of Aranda.

2017 with canada. we had more yards than them and scored and yes coulda had shot to win if not for three missed TDs in EZ. E was shutout by bama in 2016 and 2018.

see E in 2018

2018 was better than people remember it. One of the biggest issue with 2018 was scoring FG's instead of TDs. Add to that dropped passes which led directly to those FGs or to punts. That was part of what Brady brought, better pass catching due to improved practice techniques and red zone/third down offense.

Was 2019 due to Brady, Burrow, or Ensminger? It was all three coming together.

Who do I think deserves the lion share for that? That's a harder call but I lean toward Burrow being able to execute all of that.

Just my take, you fat bastard.

neither did canadas in 2017 WITHOUT burrow like E had. that is not the point tho. BRADY ELEVATED E to new heights. END OF STORY

You see all those job offers flying Ensminger’s way?

I sure don’t.

Before you say “he’s old” he is only 3 years older than our current coach. And 7 years younger than Saban.

If he’s so good, why does nobody want him?

E was very good at scripted drives but always weak at adjustments and attacking weaknesses and matchups. FACT.

Canada had better stats in 2017 than some of E stats in 2018.

E ran max protect shite too much in 2018. brady went wide and deep and made them defend 4 and 5 guys all over the field and every blade of grass.

yep. still need a QB and players to execute schemes regardless.

Bingo. To much credit was given to Brady. It was the combination of the 3.

It was common knowledge he didn’t want other jobs or to go anywhere. He wants to finish where he started.
