Strong would be a good choice. Much better than Pelini. Patterson should still be #1.

Yep but its taken this long and its still not a "normal" thing for a black coach to get a job much less one who is married to a white woman. The guy can coach and that should be all that matters.

Strong would be pretty good when you give him a real look.

You know I had too.

Are you fricking serious? We have a black president and you're scared to have a black football coach? News flash to any redneck elmerfud ranter on this board, if you have a daughter and she isn't married to a black dude nowadays, more than likely, shes gone down on one... bring on strong.

Im not Id be happy with him as coach, hes a good solid coach I was agreeing that its shameful that his+her race is a factor, but hell the NFL which has a much larger amount of black HCs (as a % of coaches) but still has the Rooney rule. If you dont think that a few of the BOS at LSU might have a concern to have a black man as a HC who is in an interracial marriage then you are ignorant. Charlie Strong was a DC in the SEC for 10 years and didnt get a HC till last year, and it wasnt for lack of trying. Now what other reason can you come up with?

From this video it seemed him and his wife thougth they would never get a Heach Coaching shot. Charlie Strong emotional

It's at the :50 mark.

I would love a Charlie Strong hire. Central Arkansas is his alma mater so it's not like he'll leave to go there. He's been a defensive guy in the SEC for a while and most likely has mutual respect with Chavis so he may keep him on the staff...kinda how Mike Tomlin retained Dick Lebeau in Pittsburgh.

He's only coached in college so i doubt he has a NFL itch to scratch...he's 50 so he can easily do 15 plus years here.

And the race pimps are falling out of their chair for a fight even though the guy he's picking a fight with is on his side!

i never thought about strong but IF necessary to hire, he should be a high candidate. i dont honestly think the race card would be a problem, but then again i dont really know so cant say. he does seem to be qualified in my mind, at least as much as some of the other names being thrown around here. i would support the (potential) hire.

honestly and truly, though, i hope we dont have to go through with this and our stress is all for naught.
