Why are we letting the outcome of one game sway an opinion on a coach?

You ever thought it might actually be a combination of things? You really think it is one game?

Bc this board is mostly populated by immature, instant gratification, wanna-be geniuses. They base their knee-jerk decisions on whatever information they have most recently seen or heard.

Cuz it’s just us dumb fans. No one here is an actual Athletic Director. So, who cares?

Well, we are now into the real meat of most team;s schedule. So one game now demonstrates their reality pushing through what might be a weak schedule, or a Heisman level player.

It's who they have always been. Bad games today just reinforces that.

Thankfully, this collective group has no actual say in anything. They’d fire and hire coaches on a game by game basis.

Saban has warped the perception of good coaches.

Guys like Spurrier, Holtz, and Stoops each only won one national championship. That doesn't mean they suck. They're considered all-time greats.

This board nitpicks every moderately successful coach now, and even shits on proven winners like Dabo and Jimbo.

Guess what...winning a national championship is hard. One loss, or one bad season, does not define a coach. If LSU is as good of a job as we all believe it to be, a bunch of coaches can, and will, be successful here. Les and Orgeron have proven this.

Which games are you referring to?

Some of us have never supported Aranda, Tucker or Napier.
My opinion has been the same of all three prior to today.

I don’t think either of them all ready for LSU. But It’s just my opinion and I’m a nobody. It is a message board though and like it or not, someone is going to be right. I might, I might not, we’ll see how their careers go. Just hope it’s not at LSU.

As it has been stated several times, thank goodness the rant does not decide the next coach!
But I have no doubt that Woodward already had a Top 3-5 coach list for at least a month now. Wins/loses do not matter at this point, he has his pecking order set.

I'm with you. Considering the success of this program over the last couple of decades, we should be beyond settling for risks now.

The national media even agrees that LSU is an elite job, so proven winners should be at the top of Woodward's shortlist, no matter how unrealistic they may be. I like Aranda, Napier, and Tucker, but none of them have the resumes I'd prefer for this job at this point in time.

IF Woodward completely struck out on his top choices, I'd be most comfortable with Aranda because of his recent familiarity with LSU, and the way he handled the defense while he was here.

Because our fans are the dumbest in college football and they’ve proven that for decades.

It shouldn't.

Scott needs to looks at trends, trajectories, etc. One of the big things now is to look at how these coaches handle a loss.

We will never hire anyone who doesn't bogey an occasional hole.

Well if someone like Mel Tucker is a candidate strictly based on his team’s overachieving results this year, it is fair to use a result that counters just how great of a coaching job he’s doing to evaluate him.

Woodward isn’t using one game and he’s the one making the hire.

It's the same way that the UCLA game swayed Woodward to move on from Ed. And he has won an NC at LSU.

Some LSU targets havent even been to bowl games. One game sometimes shine the harshest light on people with a weak history

This board lets one play swing their opinion players, of course one game is going to swing their opinion on a coach
