Biggie, during out last discussion over this you mocked me when i said Canada has wanted out for a few months now, saying "yea everyone and their mother knew that".
I dont even think you know what you are arguing now. Do you really want to argue in a circle again? Cause i'm not that bored buddy. You're right, he's getting fired

I'm not an O believer, but I want Ensminger.
Let O choose who he wants, let him run the program how he wants, so that there are no excuses if/when it fails. I will still be hoping for the best.
Fair.

At some point in December, LSU officials informed representatives for Canada that he should search for another job and discussed potential settlements for his hefty contract. Those are now in the last stages.
You’re right earl...he’s quitting
But by all means Lester, post your evidence to the contrary.

This. My favorite is posters jumping into the threads and saying “oh yeah, he’s great, he’s a must-get” knowing nothing about the guy besides sportscenter highlights.

O and ensminger with a good relationship is WAY better than O and Canada with a shitty relationship. I mean if you’re an LSU fan and want the best chance at success next season.

The negotiation is if they can fire him with cause, pay him his full buy out, or a negotiated amount. It would be done now if it were what you’re saying it is.
A buddy of mine suggested this a few days ago: if Canada & O did have a physical altercation and O is trying to "run him off" then Canada holds all the cards. He can simply claim "hostile work environment" and not budge on the $3 mil. If LSU said "piss off here's $1.5 mil see ya in court" can you imagine the black eye of having to litigate in court 2 coordinator departures?

This.
If you force O to hire someone it will be no different than the past season.

What about recruiting violations?
Chronicled, well detailed, very minor in nature, and no active investigations, so it's all out there.
Look man, if you can't admit that there's any difference between the two, then I really can't help you. I wanted Briles too and am disappointed we aren't getting him, but I can at least understand the opposing argument against him. They might be gutless pussies, but they do present a valid argument.

BigJ, you really think this stuff suddenly came about between our last game and bowl game? lol
Canada has wanted out since at least the week before thanksgiving. At least that is when i was told from someone that would know.

You're basically reaffirming why O was a dreadful hire and this model sucks.

The model is fine br O isn’t executing it
If he would rather an OC he’s comfortable with than the best OC we can get that’s not the model.
I think It could work if you have like a beloved figure head who will never get fired and you just want to swop our Coordinatora.

How do you know that? What if they win next season?

Too bad we don't have one.

Then I will have been very happily proven wrong. Ensminger hasn't been a full time OC since 1998 and has recently said he doesn't want to be an OC again. Why are we acting like it would be anything but a terribly weak hire?

I would bet the quality gap between Canada and ensminger is not nearly as bad as you think it is.
Gettting worked up over assistant coaches is pretty silly. There are lots of guys out there that can do a quality job as OC.
And we all know LSU is built on defense anyway. The OC is important of course but it doesn’t need to be the focus. See coach stud in 2011.
Ensminger will do fine.

Are you serious?
Offense is the #1 reason we fired Miles
Did you miss genpart in 2011 when we scored 9 points in 2 games vs Alabama?

Are those scenarios the only two options? If so, FML
Why can't we have a good OC who our DL coach doesnt interfere?

Well many still argue miles firing was a mistake. But to your point, look how well the offense did rest of the season following the firing of miles.
And if every team judged their offensive coaches strictly by how they performed against bama, then we wouldn’t have many coaches left in college football.

I think we all know that without improvement on offense we basically wasted 10 million in buying out Miles. Because the previous model is what your describing.

And this is why we can't have nice things. If you've paid attention to college football lately, you would see that you HAVE to be able to score points. 2011 LSU was an aberration. That defense and special teams dont come around often.
