Here's a question for those in the know:
What's Ensminger's offense, anyway?
Remember, when he took over in '16, they kept Cameron's playbook and ran his plays. Ensminger just took over calling the plays. So the team was actually running an offense they had been in for several years, and they knew those plays, had the timing down etc.
We've since put Canada's plays in, so guys like Brennan and Narcisse don't even know Cam's playbook. They're probably barely up to speed with Canada's. Narcisse hasn't even seen the field, and Brennan was spot duty with the old system.
You bring in something new again, and you have the same exact overall issue you had this season: young QBs trying to pick up a new system; Brennan might learn faster so he jumps back ahead of Narcisse (who might have been closing the gap).
And this time, no 5th yr QB with a bunch of starts under his belt here and elsewhere to help smooth the pain. No Guice as the default quick answer on the ground, no Chark as the easy first choice at WR.

Not a clue. But then against, since our HC has no team identity, why should our OC?

Esminger is a "do just enough not to get fired" hire. LSU will never win anything with him except a meaningless bowl.
O's gameplan for next year:
Lose 4-6 games next year/point to last(this year 9 win season) year/talk about not missing out on this great recruiting class/maintaining continuity/getting a stay of execution only to be fired the very next year because he is no better than Miles in his latter years. In fact, O is probably worse because he didn't learn anything while at OM. He just took over a program in better shape.

I think people are just aggravated that if he gets the job, it goes against everything O has said about hiring coordinators.
They hired from within and we all know how that went recently

You were pumping Ensminger HARD. Liar. He was your first choice.
frick you. I think Ensminger did a GREAT job last year, and would be an excellent hire if we go in that direction. Most of you stargazers and hypeaholics look for the shiny objects, and don't consider risk such as the potential backlash from hiring Briles and Freeze -- both of whose offenses I like, but the risks are heavy. My personal favorites are Sark, Gilbert, Cumbie, but I stand by my previous comments that Ensminger is not a marquee hire, but proved that he has balance and knows how to get the ball to playmakers and could do a killer job.

I’m just calling you out on your lies. It’s obvious he was always your #1.
ETA as for the rest of your post, I’ll answer with O’s own words (unless you’re him, in which case they are yours):
“We’re gonna go hire the best coordinators in the country, and I’m going to let them do their jobs.”

id have a bigger problem with if it had happened without looking into other guys. By all reports they are doing their due diligence

Do you think coaches are considered 'superstars' because of their name? their looks? their cool personality?
no, Its because they have proven to be a good coach. Im pretty sure we all get excited about coaches that we know are good, not because they are a 'star'.
Ensminger has proven jack shite, at least positively.

He's obviously not my choice. But I'll still support the team. I'll at least give it a chance before I start melting....so not sure what category that puts me in.
Good news for O haters though, his seat becomes lava hot if Ensminger doesn't work out next year.

Don't know.
Don't think it matters.
I think O wants him because he will do what O says and be his vessel for that USC offense he's wants so much.

I agree. I just hope they dont cross out Briles and Freeze because of fear of PR backlash considering Orgeron's past and his right hand man's past, which they seem to be completely cool with

For instance I remember people laughing at coach O promoting Meatball Johnson. As small of a hire that was, it still drew criticism. All our fans looked at was his rasume’. A year later they realize he is now our best recruiter. How could they have possibly know that on paper? They couldn’t
This is a really bad comparison. There’s a difference in hiring an inexperienced guy for a position coach job. If it doesn’t work out move along but there’s upside there.
Steve is who he is at this point. He did a solid job as interim OC sure but the rest of his track record as an OC is mediocre at best. If you misfire here again, it’s basicaly over. That wasn’t the agreement when O took this job

Just curious why you think that. There were games where we racked up lots of yards but it was always against the lower rated defenses. In overall total offense we're actually ranked better this year. But really our offensive production has pretty much been the same for the last three years. What was so "great" and "killer"? Our red zone scoring was bad this year but it's not like we were great at it last year either. As a matter of fact the red zone play calling at the end of the Florida game sucked. What was great?

Then use Matt Canada if you want. Or Cam Cameron even. How many people loved the Cameron hire? Just about everyone. We couldn't run him out of here fast enough.
Canada is polarizing as well, yet when he was hired just about everyone was on board.

I like Ensminger, and believe that he can do a good job if that's where we go. I loathe Canada and have been consistent for 2/3 of the season with this position. Since I run large businesses around the world, I also know that motivation and building constituent excitement are equally important components of organizational (i.e. program) achievement. Having said this, bringing in a competent OC from the outside invigorates the base and helps to pacify dick heads like you. I also believe that Sark, Cumbie, Gilbert bring these elements in, and also provide some fresh ways to use our talent, and pump up fans ---- all vital elements of program management.
