It's not a current college coach. It is an NFL coordinator which one, not sure. The school the last two times going NFL route has gotten it right.

Please be Greg Roman. I would be ecstatic.

I don't think it's Roman though. I could see Chudzinski or Schottenheimer (who would be great pick)

All those guys will have shots at NFL HC jobs.... Roman would make the most sense b/c of his college experience at Stanford...

granted, the other guys may have decent college experience as well.

Why would Gundy want to leave OSU for Arky? That's the real question. He has a better chance of winning conference championships, which equals going to the BCS playoff, at OSU than Arky ( a second tier SEC gig). Gundy has total control of the program after winning a Big 12 conference championship and going to and winning a BCS bowl game last year.

We have first class facilities and a new indoor practice facility opening up this spring. Also, we are positioned very well to win a conference championship next year and the following as well.

Last time I checked, you all are going through a pretty rough year and will likely need a few years to get back.

Arky is not a top 5 or top 10 job, its just not. Gundy just might leave if a top 5 or top 10 job came to him, anyone wouod at least listen to that. However, it would be a lateral move for him to hop to Arky.

You all will likely get Briles or Tubs, end of story.

lateral literally, since US 412 is almost a straight shot over.

figuratively, not a lateral move. The ceiling at OSU has been reached, maybe Gundy needs to be challenged more, and the SEC West provides that challenge in the pre-eminent conference in college sports.

The BCS playoff elevates the ceiling at OSU. Win the Big 12 championship, go to the playoff

Winning the Big 12 championship or go to the SEC west and finish third every year in your own division

You're right, he wants a challenge so he will leave. Sound logic

They have beaten us many years in a row, and was one letdown game away from a BCS championship game. Yet we are absolutely kicking their arse on the recruiting trail.

Uhhh - This is hardly a reason to pound your chest given geography.

mentioned by who?

the season isnt over yet.

im sure they have some targets, but i doubt naming a new coach is imminent. Anything and everything is hearsay right now.

We have won our division with crappier coaches, amd finished ahead of Lsu a couple times. But don't let facts stop you.

If I were to bet it would either be Gundy, Patterson or Strong.

cardboard boxer just might be the most uninformed poster regarding Arkansas athletics that I've ever seen.

I don't see Bama or LSU sliding anytime soon. Also, TAMU looks to be in a good spot moving forward.

But dont let reality stop you.

I already stated that I thought Briles or Tubs would get the job.

Briles is a solid coach and the Arky job would be a nice upgrade from Baylor.

Im really not sure though. What I am sure of is that Gundy will not be leaving to be your next coach. Speculating who your next coach will be at this point is speculation. That being said, there are certain coaches that just do not make sense to even speculate about. That's all I'm saying,

This probably will not be the first time you have been wrong in your life.

What makes me laugh at all your comments on this particular page, is that Gundy has reached out to Arkansas and first did so back in the spring.

Now, you can think what you want, but there is a very strong chance you are going to be either A) sad, mad, and kick your dog or B) left wondering why the frick did Gundy just leave State high and dry.

If you revert to selection B, I would start with the AD and then look at TBoone.

Thanks

Briles is a no go. He was in my initial top 5, since then Baylor has committed to the new stadium and tons of upgrades. They wouldn't have done so w/o commiting to Briles with a commitment from Briles.

Also dude you say OSU winning their conference is a given..... they've done it only 9 times in the entire history of OSU football. Win your state first, OU leads 82-17-7. OSU doesn't have sidewalk fans, which severly limits the popularity of the program. Arkansas' fanbase is probably 35% sidewalk. Many of the most ardent Razorback supporters I know went to Arkansas Tech, UALR, OBU, and the program is easily recognizeable.

I was in a store in Tulsa Thurs. and a guy in hog polo and cap walked by me, I had a hog shirt on too. We just smiled at each other said hello, shook hands as we passed. I've never once had an OSU fan say hello to me when I was wearing OSU gear. I support both schools but my heart lays with the Hogs.
