Maybe I'm being too optimistic and thinking too much into it and it will bite me in the arse, but...
It seems way too quiet
Riley wasn't very adamant in his denial when asked about the LSU job
All the media sources seems to be all over the place with who they think the front runner is. No one is dead set on one single candidate and it's always changing.
The trusted insiders on here (tbl) and the main ones over on 247 seem to be saying the same thing and that everyone else is way off base and clueless. "Nobody in the media has any clue as to what is happening, NOBODY"

I think we have an agreement via his agent. No direct contact. Things happen and deals fall through before the ink is dried. Plausible deniability until sometime post regular season. Late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
COntracts are definitely vetted and finalized by this time though.

Most likely done. To me, the biggest clue is the retention of certain assistants. That was probably given a green light by the next HC.

If there's a deal in place, and it's announced Sunday, it's Petersen.
No active Coach with Conference Championship Games, Bowl Games, and possibly CFB playoff implications is going to announce on Sunday.
Same with an NFL guy

The fact that there are no denials tells me a deal is done.
Nornally we see LSU make an offer, then the coach turns it down and reaffirms his commitment - often with a larger contract from that school.
That last step hasnt happened for any of the candidates except for Jimbo to a degree.
