His name has been brought up in the past but haven’t heard it during this search.

Kirk Ferentz

He is a bit old, but win in 3 years and retire at 70.

Scott Frost

Frost is banging coeds in Lincoln while his family lives in Orlando.

He’s a younger and better looking Orgeron. No thanks.

You really think he’ll be focused and not hanging out in bars trying to slay everything in sight?

Frost did great stuff at UCF

6-7 2016
13-0 2017

Great turn around from 2016, but not much of a sample size. His record since is abysmal.

Sonny dykes. I truly think that he was let go at Cal way too early. He essentially regressed the year that they had no seniors because the previous coach got fired. He took them from absolute dog shite to a bowl winning team. What he is doing at SMU is seriously impressive, will be really interested at how they do vs Cincinnati coming up.

Edit: I don’t think he wins a championship in 3 years, nor do I think he is the best candidate, but I do think he would fix a ton of the stuff that is currently broken and have us at a consistent 10 win team again where he could potentially win a championship on years they put it all together.

The program hasn't really averaged 9 wins since Pelini left in 2014. Riley had one 9 win season. It has been a tailspin ever since. Frost did great stuff at UCF.

I know. From 2008-2016 Nebraska won at least 9 games in 8 out of 9 years. Riley went 6-7, 9-4, and 4-8. Frost has been there ever since and hasn't won more than 5 games.

As a Alabama fan, I didn’t want him to go to Auburn and LSU as well. He would make LSU very tough to beat

That's a very open ended hypothetical. Technically Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, Andy Reid, etc would qualify, but that would be a pretty worthless discussion.

Helton (Tyson)
and the most intriguing to me... Charlie Huff

I'm assuming the following did not meet the threshold of having "been discussed", i.e. have been discussed enough:
