I like to laugh at Aggies but they are a big program. Stoops would have been a clown hire for them.

That’s why I said without looking at the numbers.

His sec record in a down east is bad

Also Ross Bjork’s agent not coincidentally

There’s a reason why he’s been at Kentucky for 11 years. He has a 35–55 conference record in the SEC East. Kentucky is 1-18 under Stoops against teams ranked in the top 10.

He’s done a nice job making UK football respectable, but attempting to rebrand him as a hidden coaching gem is a stretch.

Still too many unknowns to know what’s up.

Maybe Bjork just incorrectly assumed that $10 million annual salary would be rubber stamped.

It’s always funny to watch these ag fans claim “we” are really rich while bragging about other people’s pocket books. A&M might have the dumbest rich fans ever spending gigantic sums of money for literal failure over and over

Paying $70 million over 7 years for a guy who is 35-55 in SEC play and has only won two games against teams above .500 in SEC play would have been stupid as hell.

If we are spending $9-$10 million a year on a coach it better be somebody who is worthy of a top 5 salary. Stoops ain't that guy. Bjork tried to shove a Jimmy Sexton client down our throats and it blew up in his face.

35-55 Mark Stoops? Ok. This thread shows how dumb some of y’all really are.

At Kentucky, that is pretty amazing.

Is it? The majority of his tenure at UK has seen Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida be mediocre to bad. Almost a third of those wins are against Vandy!

It’s the same hubris that led them to the SEC. Complete lack of self awareness

Why don’t you expand on that?

they've played Candy every year since A&M was a national champion.
why haven't all their other coaches racked up wins against Vandy?

I am not talking about any other Kentucky coaches. We’re discussing the current one. Is Vandy football today in the same position as Vandy football 50, 60, 80 years ago? You want to talk about UK’s record against Sewanee also?

isn't that one way to judge a coach, compared others at the same school?

Are they coaching at the same time concurrently? Otherwise it’s apples and oranges.

To answer the OP, it seems like A&M has worn more games throughout the Sumlin/Jimbo era than Stoops has at Kentucky. I’m not an A&M fan, but I would agree they could do better with their budget.

With much better talent.

I would say Stoops did more with less than Jimbo.
