I guess it’s hard to say until Washington names a HC, but did he prove anything this year? Reid and the Chiefs are heading straight back to the Super Bowl without him. Must sting.

the chiefs are a machine. in no way should Nagy get any credit for them making the SB this year. Eric will end up on some team as OC

If reports are accurate, Ben Johnson will be named HC of the Commanders shortly. Whether or not he would retain Bieniemy remains to be seen. The Chiefs making the SB would have no bearing on anything...Andy Reid is running, and has always ran, that offense. I could see EB in Detroit.

The game plan and play calls against Baltimore were a thing of beauty. The stretched them wide, moved Kelce all over the place, and took a lot of underneath yardage that Baltimore gave to them. Really allowed them to move the chains and control the momentum. Not sure how his role compares to Andy Reid in the development and play calling, but someone should get an award for yesterday.

He proves he’s not good without Reid 2 feet away

Or with Patrick Mahomes.

Sam Howell threw for a lot of yards. He also led the NFL in INTs and sacks. Was that mostly on him? A poor OL? Or the OC? That's what teams would have to figure out.

That said, Bieniemy was constantly heralded by media as a strong HC candidate for several years. Yet, NO ONE ever hired him. The media will tell you that is because NFL owners are racist. But your intuition probably tells you something else...the multiple teams that have considered hiring him don't think he is a good candidate.

It's not entirely his fault given their personnel is pretty bad but the WAS offense got worse as the season went on. Didn't seem to have any answers

Even if they had more success I'm not sure that would massage the general concerns people have of him running a program

Where are the guys saying the Chiefs sucked because Eric B wasn’t there anymore? Seems like the ship has sailed.

I don't think any Chiefs fans ever said they "sucked" because EB left. More like the Chiefs don't look or play like their normal selves since he left.

Listening to the players, I think the thing missing most with EB's departure is his willingness to get in people's faces when they need (or deserve) it. He was also willing to pull the trigger on players not playing up to their level of talent if needed. Nagy isn't that fiery dude, but maybe that's not a bad thing...

Nobody expected the downturn in receiving this year on that team. That said, they got right in the playoffs which is what matters most.

IMO, next year will show whether or not Nagy has any legs as a "good" OC.

The Chiefs score 8 points less per game than they did last year.

I don’t think Bienemy helped himself with the Commanders, but I don’t really think that the Chiefs’ offense proved how great they are without him.

Chiefs’ defense was better this year though.

One of two things are going on. He has a reputation within the coaching circle that either the media either won't admit but keep pushing his name to incite some narrative OR they are ignorant to it so they keep propping him up as a head coach candidate and act flabbergasted when he doesn't become one.

I'm tired of hearing about the guy, because it's clear he won't be a head coach.
