What is the knock on Pelini.....

I hear a lot of people saying they don't want Pelini because of his attitude & that he wouldn't last long around LSU with his personality. I know he had a run in with a couple of players on the sidelines but to me, the guy fits the "saban-mold". Tough defensive minded guy who gets in your face & lets you know how it is? As long as he was winning/is winning, nobody seemed/seems to have minded that from saban.
IF Coach Miles would leave for um, I wouldn't mind seeing Pelini atop the list. I think LSU needs to go after a defensive minded tough guy who hires great coordinators-actually, all he'd have to do is keep Chief & dump crowton & studawara(sp?) to make me happy. Not saying I want Coach Miles to leave, just saying, IF he would, Pelini seems to be a solid guy.

He doesn't fit the Saban mold.
They have completely different defensive philosophies for one and he is viewed as crazy. Saban is viewed as being passionate and detail oriented.
Pelini's teams were very undisciplined when i watched them this year. With the exception of a few games when Martinez went off rushing they were not a very impressive team....much like LSU was against inferior opponents.

He's crazy but good. And when he was at LSU the players loved him.

"saban-mold" meaning a tough, in your face, defensive, NON-warm & cuddly kinda guy.
I had heard things about his team being undisciplined but I do remember defensive players at LSU loving him when he was here. It would surely be a change of pace from the Coach Miles "huggy-bear" kinda guy to a Pelini "crazy momma grizzly bear" kinda guy. But hey, if it works....

Pelini would not be the worst hire we could land... People wanna forget what he done while at LSU. His defenses were good and helped win a national title. I would be OK with giving him a go... Neb was nothing for a long time until Pelini started turning it around.
