How do LSU fans feel about this possibility?

MSU is obviously in a downward spiral since Dak left. If Mullen sees this as an opportunity to jump the ship for a better job, would you guys be accepting of him?

Pros:
Seems to do a lot with a little
Seemingly level-headed
Has a lot of big-time experience with multiple teams
Brought MSU its first #1 ranking ever

Cons:
Recruiting has never been his strong suit
4-29 vs. ranked teams (.121 winning percentage, only ahead of Stoops and Franklin in the SEC of all coaches that have coached a full season as head coach)
Never won a major bowl as a head coach
Obsessed with Yeezy's?

LSU can do a lot better. Would be a pretty uninspiring pick.

He's a very mediocre coach when he doesn't have Dak.

He made state relevant again. Something that had never been done before with the small exception of 1998. He is a good coach.

Mullen will be fired from MS State within 5 yrs, book it. He's not a great coach.

I think people forget he is at a place where prior to his reign bowl games were an uncommon occurance. The fact that they are now expected speaks volumes.

How many other coaches have taken msu to the heights he has taken them? Go on. I'll wait.

Dinardo took vandy to bowl games before he came to LSU.

...just sayin'.

I would be pissed if Auburn hired Dan Mullen but I couldn't objectively explain why.

Mullen is a QB whisperer, his offenses are good on the reg, he has decently recruited considering kids show up to Starkvegas and somehow has made MSU a competitive team.

Not sure why more people don't beat down his door

Dinardo never won more than 5 games at Vandy.

No he didn't. Before coming here he was 5-6 or 4-7 every year at Vandy. That was a good stretch for them then.

people laud the guy for not being completely terrible at MSU but not really being very good either. MSU is far from a great job but due to being in a premier conference they have a ton more in money and resources than they once had. So sure in comparison to the school's history he has done well. Still being mediocre isn't all that impressive either.

Look at that schedule, getting to 7 wins isn't that big of deal.

jackie Sherrill took them to 6 bowl games in his 13 years there.
He won the west once and played in the SEC Championship game against eventual national champ Tennessee in 1998 losing 24-14. Dan Mullen ever do that? Nope, just finishes 5th in the West just about every year, except that one year he finished 2nd, and then they lost to GATech in the bowl game, who's won only 2 bowl games in their last 10 tries.
