my question is how will or can Alleva even be replaced? F King isn't going to do it. Board of Advisers all eat crawfish like O and they wanted O

The plan was to hire the best OC in the nation possible. Does Canada, Helfrich, or Sarkisian not fit that bill?
You really think in a interview and presentation, You simply state, I'm hiring the best o.c. in the nation without have who 1, 2, 3, and 4, are?
I don't think Canada or Helfrich was a name in the interview. I think Helfrich still had a h.c. job at the time. I can see kiffin and Sark being a name.
However, when the a.d. comes out and says, just wait and see the coaches he's going to hire. This is going to be an amazing staff. Who are those coaches? I don't think these were the names presented which is concerning.
do we know how canda recruits? that's pretty big. Gary Crowton can call great plays, his downfall was he couldn't recruit worth a lick. It's pretty important to get the talent that can run your offense. We went from having n.f.l. caliber qb's in Mauk, Russell, Flynn, etc. to a Harvard transfer.

Correct me if I am wrong but HC>OC?
At most places, but not FAU. He will likely be taking pay cut from what he got at Bama and what he would get here. Enos left CMU for the Arkansas OC role and CMU is a much better job than FAU. Being an OC at Bama or LSU is a better stepping stone than FAU. You can get an SEC job from being an SEC OC, leaving FAU you can get the USF or ECU job.

Yea let's reference Jordan. Lol
Use whatever comparison you want, but someone shooting to the top for a short time doesn't necessarily make them the best. That's the point.
Or, better said, being "the best" for one year isn't as important as being consistently at the top of your game.

However, I'd be willing to put money that Canada was not a part of the original plan. I don't see Ogeron presenting his case, vision, etc. with Canada as one of the main targets.
He wasn't. The vision is that Derek P reads this board and then reports back to O as to who they should be looking at

best OC available was the original plan correct? Who is the best?

Canada
not him.. offenses ranked in the 60's the last 5 years aint the best..
This should come down to two people and two people only..
Briles or Helfrich.. period..
Briles will get you a national title
Helfrich will get you an SEC title.
Oregeron will not hire Briles because he knows Briles would gain more power then him over time.
He prob thinks the same about helfrich but Helfrich resume isnt what Briles is..

I've shite all over the coaching search, negotiations, and ultimate selection of Orgeron. I've even shite on the idea of the biggest douche head coach in the history of the sec coming here.
Canada is not something to bitch about.

I understand that FAU is not a good job. However, it's pretty obvious that he was passed over for all of the better "mid-tier" jobs out there this year. He is doing what O would have had to do if hadn't been for Alleva handing him the keys to a job he wasn't really qualified for, and what Briles will likely have to accept to rehab his image. No better program will touch him until he proved he can run a smaller one without the insanity and drama that STILL seem to follow him.

That's my take as well. Kiffin may view it as a better opportunity to take a step back to prove he can run a smaller program to erase doubts he can run a program at all. In contrast, if he didn't exceed expectations at LSU in year one as an OC, it may have been riskier.

You all just make shite up to fit your narrative. Orgeron said on Mike and Mike that he has 5-7 people ranked for each coaching position. If he does not get Number 1 then he will move to Number 2.

It's been shown that Alleva is full of shite long before this.

Which is really concerning. If you have a vision/plan and you are already throwing it out the window, then there really never was one. This type of disorganization will come to roost.
See this right here is what I worry about. Surely the only name on the list wasn't Kiffin. I have to believe that O's plan was more thought out than a one year stop gap at most like Kiffin.
Right?

So Canada was a great hire about 3 weeks ago and now he is a shite hire? The bi polar issues on this board is worrisome.

No it's not safe to say, at least for that reason. Canada would be an excellent hire. Hope it happens very soon.
By the way, have you and the other negative nellies realized that in 20 or so years, at the current rate, half of the State of Louisiana will have eroded into the Gulf of Mexico? So it really won't matter, will it? I mean, if we are going to be negative about life, let's take it to the full max.

will Canada leave PItt after 1 year?
LSU is an objectively far better job and will be a huge raise.
So yes, I think he would leave Pitt after one year.

No. Helfrich or Canada, among others, would be solid hires. Imo, LSU should also seriously consider good candidates with Texas recruiting ties, such as Gilbert and TCU CoOC.
