Re Briles, all the Coach O haters consider him a victim of bad press. After all, he was never arrested. So goes their story, anyway. If his "baggage" is too much for a school like Houston, why would a school like LSU even think bout hiring him? Oh. Right. He's the victim here.

Well, he was the first in the line of coaches that brought Houston back to national prominence (Briles, Sumlim, ... Herman). It's worked for Pertrino going back to Louisville.

Fertitta was on the Michael Berry show this morning talking about Herman and the UH football program. He was directly asked about Briles and he didn't dismiss the possibility, said they would have to find out more details of his involvement at Baylor first. Even said Baylor officials have already told him they are willing to meet face to face with him to talk about everything.
ETA:
He actually did not say he was not under consideration. Said there are a lot of questions that would need answering first.

Briles... what Fertita said was the while every person deserves a second chance, the whole story around Briles and what went on at Baylor still is not known. Sounds like UH was uncomfortable with Bridles. He indicated that Briles was not under consideration by UH. That's what Fertita said this morning.

I swear I don't know why Les isn't being mentioned more for the job. I also think UH should go "older", try to get someone who could stay 6-8 years at a minimum.

That's right because the media would say mean things about us and we can't have that

Why in the hell would Holgorsen leave WVU for Houston?

Can the admins ban this guy? Haven't we had enough "insider" news for one season?

So if Chicken is wrong about his sauces, does he ban himself???

Unless holgerson is just angling for a contract extension, I don't buy that shite. Why would he leave a P5 school for Houston?

Briles will not be head coach at a major school again. Baylor's President, a former federal prosecutor, their AD and their head coach were ALL fired. Probably in an effort to sweep as much as possible under the rug and settle out of court. Maybe years ago, but in today's politically correct world, it ain't gonna happen.

Why did Tuberville leave Texas Tech for Cincinnati?

Same source you got your Nick Saban to Texas info from?

Wasn't UC still in the Big East at the time? As bad as that conference was at times, they were still a power conference.

Tubs was a terrible fit for Tech. I think both parties were ready to move on.

The big east was a shell of itself in 2013 and not a power conference.

I get a kick out of this stuff (I know you're kidding, just using this to point something out).
A poster says their sources tell them person A is the current front runner or under serious consideration based on a source. Then when person B is hired people act like the poster was lying. Reading comprehension seems to be lost on TD.
On a side note, if Cicken ban's himself, does it become a free for all on TD.
