After evaluating the four SEC head coaching hires, I'm convinced that Jones is the best fit and will prove to be the best hire of this group.

Congratulations!

couldnt agree more.

vol fans when you see people on here saying Jones sucks, remember these are the same idiots that were convinced Brian Kelley was a horrible coach and would be fired by the end of the year.

Considering LSURussian wanted Santorum to win the Republican nomination then presidency, I would take his opinion with a grain of salt.

I would agree had Brian Kelly left UT before.

impressive press conference

LINK

Thanks Cincy and his old team. Met with them this morning. When he told them he had accepted the head coaching position at UT, his players started clapping and applauding. *he's clearly a players coach and his kids love him.

"It's our goal to give everyone the kind of football program that you can be extremely extremely proud of and to continue to build upon the legacy and proud tradition that the Univ. of TN has been so proud of throughout the years."

"I can assure you we will put together the best football staff in the country."

"To our letter winners, you are the foundation. You will have an open door policy at our practices. You have laid the foundation for us to have much success for many years to come, and i'm a firm believer our letter winners are the program and they are welcome back any time."

"In closing, I will give my all to TN today."

Says, "I will be the first to tell you that Nick Saban and Les Miles had 0 SEC experience when they came into the league.. that's all I'll say there."

Says Cincy's scoring defense was ranked #1 in the Big East and 12th in the nation.

Asked about how it felt to know he wasn't our first choice, says he was his wife's third choice too, and that's worked out for 20 years.

Says UT is his dream job.

Are you on meth? I never supported Santorum. You've got the wrong guy, and I mean that two ways.

He's better than Stoops and Malzahn I guess. But Jones wears Bielema pajamas and they have the little feet on them.

I see you're gullible.....and butthurt.

Your guy is the second best hire of the four, but Jones is clearly the best....not even close.

This is why he basically accepted the Kentucky and Colorado jobs before UT panicked and called him.

Tennersee, ripping the title of most delusional fanbase away from LSU and never looking back.

It's not good when you have to start the spin at the introductory news conference.

Or they were happy to be rid of him, however you want to spin it.

I lol'd when Jones said Tennessee was the best athletic program in the country. Is that why their profit margin doesn't even compete with half the conference?

Every coach says the job that just made him a multi-millionaire is his "dream" job. Of course, that is until the next dream job becomes available.

Statements like that are just booster shots to the fan base. Good statements to make, but meaningless... If it pumps you up, good for you, because that is all it was intended to do.

True.

But, I based my opinion on the respective records of success vs. the resources they had to accomplish those successes. I didn't see Jones' press conference so it is not a factor influencing my evaluation of his abilities.

Wasn't he like 23-14 at the best school in the worst conference?

19-6 the past two seasons with a program that had to settle for recruits after the 3,4 and 5 star athletes were taken by other teams.

He will do well at Tennessee with the athletes they will be able to recruit there. I'm not saying he will be playing in the championship game anytime soon, but of the four recent HC hires, he has, by far, accomplished more with less than the other three.
