Frost is a good hire but is he going to be able to draw elite assistants? They need a defensive coach, IMO they should look to the NFL, Jim Schwartz seems like a great fit for college but you would need patience as he's not leaving the Eagles mid season with a great chance to win a ring

Leave the DC job from the best team in the NFL for a college gig with a coach 20 years younger than him? Love Schwartz, but he has never coach college ball except for a season at Colgate in 1992.

Seems like there is 0% chance that happens.

In what ways? He was a GA at Maryland and Minnesota 30 years ago, but other than that NC Central and Colgate are his only college experience, which ended in 92. He’s been in the NFL since then.

I understand that nobody likes a show-off or a know-it-all. Please remember that all of my posts are directed solely at the Florida fans (and a select few others, i.e. Monkeybutt) who started with all of their shite-talking and ridicule. Some of them, such as finchmeister08, are STILL running their mouths. This has nothing to do with LSU, Bama, or any other fan base. I apologize for coming across like a douche but in hindsight, they deserve it. At least they got a solid coach in the end.

I'm talking about him as a HC for Nebraska not D.C. under Frost

I hear jimbo was moving to college station and Frost was going to tally.

Let me guess what you’re gonna say next: “ I hear Taggart is going to FSU and Frost to Oregon”

Frost may have picked Nebraska over UF . I don’t understand why he would trash his career and loose time with his baby just to coach a school that he played for .

Nebraska is a wasteland in the era of modern college football. That program will never return to what it once was, just too many inherent hurdles to overcome in this day and age.

The only hindrance to Nebraska’s success on the football field is geographical location. That’s it. We just need a coach that elite recruits will actually want to come to Lincoln to play for, and we’re hoping that coach is Frost.

Location is a big hurdle, do you have any businesses? That can offer good paying jobs after graduation?

Please tell me you don't actually think that a 17 year old football recruit factors this in?

That’s kind of a big deal. I’m not as down on Nebraska and think they could find similar success as Wisconsin with the right coach but what you posted is a huge caveat and not an easy thing to overcome

Is there some chance that Nebraska's geographical location will change in the near future?

True, it’s not. That said, Pelini and Riley were able to manage Top 20-25ish classes each year, and they certainly weren’t anything special. Callahan even managed a Top 5 class. It’s all dependent on the coach. The main thing that draws recruits in is the fans. Every single home game is a sellout, no matter who you play, and the fans stay til the end of the game. Nebraska fans are routinely named the best fans in sports for a reason. Then again, you have to remember that there are no pro sports teams nor any other major colleges in the state (unless you want to include Creighton) so that’s all the people have to support. Frost being a hot name will hopefully bring in a Top 15 class next year. If not, I’ll consider it a disappointment.

Not true.

What was the whole issue with Bo Pelini calling your fanbase fairweather because they were leaving
