I’d believe you if you didn’t say anything about a NIL offer being the deciding factor for high school QB whose dad is going to be paid the highest salary in college football.

He didn't say that.

He said it was the deciding factor for which BR HS he was going to go to.

Not whether or not Lane would come to LSU

LSU's next head coach will be Lane Kiffin.............or Nick Saban.

If LSU swipes Kiffin they'll be the most hated program in the country at how they just keep stealing coaches in playoff runs

We should swipe Day next year. Just keep rotating.

LSU really doesn't care as long as you're winning. If he's winning, LSU is more than happy to dump money in your lap.

I just don't see how, being a competitor, you could spend years building something and then bail right before the possible culmination of all that work. That seems wild to me.

The only way I could see him doing that is if Ole Miss really gave him an ultimatum or something idiotic like that.

Under no circumstances would I expect Kiffin to abandon his team quite literally one game away from a CFP berth. Yes, BK left at a time when ND had an outside chance for a CFP berth, but ND's season was over at that point and a berth was by no means likely. If Ole Miss beats MSU, they are in. Hell, they may still be in even with a loss.

It would be one of the shittiest things a HC could do to his team in college football history. At least recent history. The only parallel I can remember was in 1989 when Bill Frieder agreed to become Arizona State's HC just before the start of the NCAA basketball tournament. Of course, Frieder planned to coach Michigan in the tournament until Bo Schembechler fired him and made his famous "Michigan Man" comment.

The good news: With Kiffin's X account, he'll be sure to set the record straight that he was given an ultimatum to stay or go by Ole Piss. He won't allow a damaging narrative to attack his character if he truly would rather stay and coach his team, but was forced out since he planned to leave at some point.

Don't underestimate stupidity from Ole Miss.

to be fair, it's going to be all over ESPN tonight that Kiffin was in BR

what would you want our AD to do if the shoe flipped?

Knox to Uhigh is real with him enrolling after Thanksgiving break as an NIL offer was presented to the family that wasn't match from a competing high school in the Baton Rouge area.

Does Knox really need high school NIL money?
This appears questionable.

"Kiffin, Layla, Landry, Knox, and Sexton are currently at LSU looking over the contract which should be finalized in the next 48 hours"

Are you looking over an employment contract with your kids & ex-wife? Questionable

"Kiffin, Layla, Landry, Knox, and Sexton are currently at LSU"
Where are the pics/videos/any sort of proof that Lane & Sexton are in BR?
Questionable

Keeping Baker and defensive staff is top priority from LSU
You will give Lane ANYTHING he wants, but he must keep Baker?
Questionable

LSU wouldn't have to pay a buyout if he left on his own.

If it were Baton Rouge, she'd be on the other side of that highway in the stalled traffic.

Can someone explain the ex-wife angle to me? Why is she always mentioned and being the "ex-wife" always in the picture? They get back together or something?

He has her on the payroll to play nice and raise their kids and they at least appear to get along

The real truth is this has been in the works for awhile as LSU/Sexton/Kiffin were in contact around the time BK got fired.

Saban, too. He was consulted. Especially when it was communicated he wasn't coaching again.
