Lane is really going to leave in the middle of the night, isn't he?
And thats supposed to be the coach we want?

Under no circumstances would I expect Kiffin to abandon his team quite literally one game away from a CFP berth. Yes, BK left at a time when ND had an outside chance for a CFP berth, but ND's season was over at that point and a berth was by no means likely. If Ole Miss beats MSU, they are in. Hell, they may still be in even with a loss.
It would be one of the shittiest things a HC could do to his team in college football history. At least recent history. The only parallel I can remember was in 1989 when Bill Frieder agreed to become Arizona State's HC just before the start of the NCAA basketball tournament. Of course, Frieder planned to coach Michigan in the tournament until Bo Schembechler fired him and made his famous "Michigan Man" comment.
There it is! The magic words of every "inside source" during coaching searches. They had the info right...until it fell apart at the last minute.

Yea Knox’s current team is still in the playoffs. Highly doubt he is Baton Rouge right now.

Me too! and my text said Saban wanted to be his DC!

The only thing I’m skeptical about is the son enrolling after Thanksgiving break. That’s a little hard to believe…

Downvote away, but do we want a coach who would do this to his current team?

Did it say Fw: Fw: Fw: Fw: Fw: first? Just asking

Why do all those people have to be there?
Posted on 11/17/25 at 2:12 pm to The Albatross
Ole Miss is in over their head and really believe that they can make it to the playoffs consistently now even though Kiffin was the one who resurrected the program. That’s their thinking behind it is that they “don’t need” Kiffin.

You got me hyped up on a Monday, let’s ride!

I don’t see Ole Miss torpedoing their shot at the playoffs to retain him.
This is what a lot of the Ole Miss insiders are saying they will do. Kinda forcing the issue. Idk why you wouldn't just allow him to finish what he started. But that's them. However, he could decide to stay after all of this.

At this rate, I think there's less than a 50% chance Kiffin is coaching the egg bowl.

Cant do NIL for high school in MS.

Hey, hope I’m wrong! Just feels way too good to be true.

No, the exact original post.

With agreement in place he wouldn't coach Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl or the playoff run.
That'd be nuts. They're about to be 11-1 and host a playoff game. They could literally be in the national title game.
I just can't see anyone doing that.

Knox to Uhigh is real with him enrolling after Thanksgiving break as an NIL offer was presented to the family that wasn't match from a competing high school in the Baton Rouge area.
this doesn't make sense. High schools are not funding NIL deals. There is nothing to match. An NIL deal is an NIL deal and has nothing to do with what high school someone attends.

I fail to see how Lane would leave mid season on Ole Miss but would be hilarious.
