I still have heard the most interest for Tenuta and Chavis...
is that from us here or from the staff.

I would love either one of those. Chavis is doing a second interview for clemson. Is he trying to counter??

i think the implosion was triggered by boosters with their hands all over his program

but he hasn't recruited offense well the past few years. that's AUs problem

yep, especially WRs ...they tried to move to the spread with one of the worst WR corps in the SEC and a JUCO QB... what's even a bigger joke is that the team had recruited to be a power running team and had all personnel for such

Tubs is a great coach IMO... they tried to fit square peg into a round hole and got burned for it

LSU is best when our Defense is swarming... Tubbs always has a great defense and has them coached up well with inferfior talent (aside from LB) than what he'd have at LSU

And if you hire fast, you definitely pass on the (arguably) better guy that you needed to wait for. Either way there are risks.

Well, if he delays too long and all the good DCs are locked up, we could always just promote someone from within.

Oh wait.

Never mind.

It has nothing to do with the fan base.

do people really not know what's going on right now?

this isn't rocket science. Miles is making a change. If he doesn't, he's gonna get fired after next season. We all know this, and so does he.

Every major DC is going to be a candidate, just like last year.

There really is no news until someone is hired. Gees. I can't believe that some of you are so dumb that you really don't understand this situation yet. It's pretty easy to follow and nothing has changed for the last 2 months.

I wouldn't be surpised if 1 or more of the new position coaches may come from NFL though...He wants some serious recruiters.

par, what is the deal with Coach O?

I take it the "he wants some recruiters" puts O in play?

Par, is it your feeling that Miles is going to keep most of the d staff? How fast do we move to hire a DC after the bowl game?

Thanks, BP. I've been coming here everyday like everyone else hoping for some news. I keep having to work through all of the garbage and when I saw that you had posted, I was very thankful.

This is all good news. Things will be just fine.

Well, I guess it could be Elmer Fudd at this point as long as it is not your co-DC arrangement that you had this year. I have it on good knowledge (a Tennessee fan who knows someone in Baton Rouge who is friends with Chavis who probably dated his sister in high school or something) but Chavis is your guy. I heard it at Church tonight so book it! So everyone can relax (assuming Chavis is better than Elmer Fudd). If not, sorry for getting the hopes up.

tenuta

Speaking of Tenuta, he's had a tough year of humility coaching out of position in a bum situation at ND. It may have been enough to temper him in a good way, kinda round off the too rough edges of his sometimes over-abrasive personality. It was, I think, pretty humiliating for Tenuta last year when as good of a defensive mind as he is, no major program offered him a DC position.

Perhaps Tenuta is ready now, personality-wise, to integrate smoothly into a high profile CFB program like LSU. I hope so - he undeniably has the smarts to scheme/game-plan, call the plays, adjust the play-calling mid-game and prepare his defenses to execute on the field. If he can put together the whole package, it would give Tenuta the opportunity over a few years at LSU to prove to the CFB world that he's ready to handle all the aspects of being a HC at a major CFB program somewhere ... and that would be very good for him long-term and equally good for LSU in the intervening years.

I don't know if you were a lurker last year or not during our coaching crisis, but if not, you don't know who belowpar is. He has inside information, apparently, and predicted everything that was going to happen. People didn't believe him, but when he nailed it, they had to recognize.

From what I understand, he is an insider. Chicken knows who he is but won't tell. That's a good thing. So, when belowpar speaks, we listen.

But, you probably knew that and were just trying to be funny.

Yep. Belowpar has proved his bona fides by past performance.

Thanks BP.
