Well, I understand, but you run the risk of one of your targets taking another job.
That asssumes that Miles is talking to nobody (his staff or potential hires), just because he's not talking to us. I would think if Miles REALLY wanted a candidate and that candidate felt the need to act on another offer there would be dialogue and decisions made. If Rant Prospect takes a job somewhere else, I would assume Miles didn't want him or he didn't want LSU.

I know Miles is entertaining the idea of getting an NFL assistant, but I think it would be risky to hire an NFL guy that has never been a DC before. And it isn't likely that a NFL DC will move to become a DC at LSU...maybe I am wrong.
But, anyhow, this is fun speculating.

Is Miles doing anything, yes of course, he's talking and reading and interviewing, he's trying to make the best possible decision. If that decision isn't made as fast as you all want him to, sorry, but he is trying to be very diligent and really wants to get the right guys.
I like the sound of that

Belowpar = Crowton?
I was looking at Chicken's football coaches link, and Crowton is the only one that looks like he could take it below par....or maybe Sharon Mangum....not bad.

Yeah, Henson was my next guess but I couldn't pass up Mangum. I can see why they have her as a Recruiting Asst.
All I know is I wouldn't want to piss off Studrawa...he looks like he could be a mean sum bitch if you cross him sideways

Chicken, I hadn't heard this. What's the scoop/source there? While generally one would think that a hire from the NFL must mean it's a quality hire, I would prefer someone who knows how to defend the spread, wild ____, and other mostly college offenses. The knock on Pelini/Malveto defenses is they are fine against Pro style offenses, but haven't kept up with newer college offensive schemes.

Miles did not get the LSU gig until AFTER the bowl season- got Pelini
Saban did not get the Bama gig until AFTER the Bowl season - Got Steele?
Meyer didn't get the UF job until AFTER the Bowl season - (not sure if Utah DC came)
Muschamp did not go to Texas until AFTER the Bowl season.
Spurrier didn't get his DC until After the bowl season as well.

Am I the only one who thinks that Clemson may be wishing they'd waited until Tubby was avail?

Tubby isn't coaching next year, in my opinion.
