Not if you have hire commitments you're busting butt to keep out of the press 'til post-bowl game[s]. Plus, these guys talk through agents anyway when it gets down to offering time.

The Rant said this is untrue.
Technically it's the Coaching Changes board, but who is splitting hairs here?

I've been out of town, sorry for no update...There still isn't a deal with anyone and I don't know who he's leaning towards...Lately I've been getting the feeling Chavis, but don't have a lot to back that up...Also I believe he will be hiring a new secondary coach and a new defensive line coach. As far as who will be gone/staying, still no news there.
Is Miles doing anything, yes of course, he's talking and reading and interviewing, he's trying to make the best possible decision. If that decision isn't made as fast as you all want him to, sorry, but he is trying to be very diligent and really wants to get the right guys.
This is a great post, but only because it comes from you. I question the intelligence of anybody who didn't already think this. It's really the only thing that makes any sense. That, or they're like Max and their hatred for Miles has clouded their intelligence.

All I really got, sorry.
Can you comment on Buddy Songy's report the last 2 days that:
1.) Miles doesn't see the need to make the change and had to be told to
2.) Miles won't name a DC until after the bowl game, contrary to what Miles had previously said
3.) Miles will replace 1 or at most 2 coaches (seems you already addressed that a bit, but if you have more info on that, I'd love to hear it)
TIA

Tubby isn't coaching next year, in my opinion
Wait and see how Miles does?????
or Sherman ...that might be a genius move by Tubbs ...take a year off from the SEC stress and collect your $6 million buyout and watch Miles and Sherman continue to implode
Tubbs is a great coach.. worried a bit about his ability to recruit at the highest level, but he does have a south Florida connection which I like

unless there is a deal already in place with the target which is highly possible.

he just triggered an implosion at Auburn that is arguably much more significant than anything Miles could do at LSU.

i think the implosion was triggered by boosters with their hands all over his program
but he hasn't recruited offense well the past few years. that's AUs problem

part of my point, plus the Franklin debacle and the current recruiting class falling apart...and it wasn't stellar to begin with. The next coach, depending upon philosophy, could have a 2-4 year rebuilding process ahead of him.

let's hope not- the only way I see a 4 year rebuilding process is if our talent is at the bottom of the ladder- don't think our talent is that bad- in one year changes should be evident and by year two in good shape again
If not- we may have the wrong guy

not sure if you're responding to my post...I was referring to the situation at Auburn.

if he had been allowed to keep borges, it would have been a "debacle." hell it was an abortion of an offnese in 07 also

but if borges had stayed, the players they went after would have fit that scheme and a new coordinator could have come in and just fixed the system. Now they're stuck in a transition phase from a talent standpoint and don't really know which direction they're going.

I don't really see Coach getting a DC from the NFL ranks...I know he had some interest in some, but honestly I don't see it happening (Nothing really firm to back this up though)...I wouldn't be surpised if 1 or more of the new position coaches may come from NFL though...He wants some serious recruiters.
Chicken, on your question about timing...No idea, but I don't think that has really anything to do with it.
But to be honest on the DC guys, I really don't know, I will think he's leaning one way then it changes...
When I know something more I'll let you know. I still have heard the most interest for Tenuta and Chavis...
Also you guys say you are worried about guys taking other jobs...LSU DC is going to get paid better than most in the country I think, the candidates that we want will wait I think, but thats just my opinion.

the problem is that they don't have the talent to run any system well right now

i don't think it matters, to be honest
they should get some system that relies on a mobile QB, but there are a handful of those
