Apparently he was vulgar and violent. That was already known, though. He threatened to kick Scott Farmer's arse a couple of years back

Is this going to knock them out of being a top tier softball program?

Hate to hear that, although if it's justified then you do what you have to do. I always admired him as a successful outside-of-the-box coach with his unique approach to hitting. A lot of players will have to "unlearn" their styles to match the new coach.

I just read the online Advertiser. This thing is going to get even more heated quickly.

Didn't he just get put on admin leave for "passionately" defending title xi and asking for better shite for the softball team?

There is no doubt in my mind that Coach Lotief was fired for calling out the Athletic Director and other Administration Officials for not funding ULL's softball program to anywhere remotely close to baseball.

The firing of Assistant Coach Sara Corbello was bush league. Told her over the weekend she was fired, giving no reason. That's sad to kick a former ULL softball player and Assistant Coach to the curb like garbage.

The whole ordeal has been handled poorly by the university, and it may come back to bite them if investigations (other than the university's own investigation) reveal violations of Title IX. That's the Feds, and if they come after you, it can be bad, real bad.

Remember, what starts out as a minor investigation soon crosses over to all athletic departments. Most programs can't come out clean under the microscope of an extensive and prolonged investigation of possible violations.

A rush to judgement could be catastrophic.

This stuff happens at various schools from time to time. It's settled and the parties move on. It's not that unusual.
But when it happens at ULL, it always seems to drag dirty in public, lawsuits back and forth, like each side has some dirt on the other. It takes them 15 years to solve the Baldwin stuff.
It's just weird.

Until extremely recently the school budget for baseball and football was a combined 0 dollars and 0 cents. Robe and Girard/TheLotiefs had to raise every single penny for their programs.

I don't know any of the facts here, but the whole thing stinks to high heaven
