Pretty sure they tried to get Murphy not Habetz and LSU/Baton Rouge isn’t what I would consider home for her.
Murphy and Habetz were a package deal, but when Murphy flaked out, Alleva did indeed offer Habetz a chance to interview, as the other poster said, and she declined.
But considering that half of Crowley showed up at her press conference in a limo, I think LSU would have been close enough to "home" for Habetz.
Nobody of substance is going to want that job. ULL softball is about to go the way of Louisiana Tech women's basketball. From national powerhouse to nobody.

We hired former Missouri AD to do an evaluation of the athletic program. Shortly after, we hired Missouri's associate Athletic director as our AD. Now the softball coach is a former assistant coach at Missouri.
Could be at least try to emulate a successful athletic program?

So Melissa Paul did get the job?

Missouri softball is also a clusterfrick. They used to go to the WCWS a lot before they entered the SEC, now they are very average. Their coach, Ehern Earleywine, is universally regarded as being the biggest bag of dicks in softball and has had to deal with all sorts of off the field drama with administration.

That's a bit harsh. They rode Chelsea Thomas to OKC until LSU broke her. They're just a super regional out now which is not bad.

I meant that they are a clusterfrick off the field more than anything, and their coach is a genuine, grade A a-hole.

I guess I am in the minority who thinks ULL will be back, sooner rather than later. The facilities are simply too good for an up and coming coach to pass up the chance to rebuild the program.
The admin, I admit, seems to be an issue. So rather than "nobody" I'd say "stepping stone".
