Good hire. UCF got it done quickly too.

Wasn’t Hybl initially the starter then White replaced him after Hybl got hurt? Then the next year White got named starter. Hybl started again after White hurt a knee vs Bama in Norman.

Why did Heupel get fired at OU?

I believe Stoops was asked to make changes on the staff after 2014 when things got stale there.

I don't get it.

He was trying for Rice gig, and UCF hires him??? MU was laughed at for hiring him as OC, and half calls he makes are jackassery.

Poor UCF

They better hire Stud OC. Shannon is ok, nothing special, overrated, really. Well, OC better be good.

Maybe... but his system has shown that it works pretty well against teams that aren't able to beat you at the LOS easily (see Mizzou's offensive success). UCF was already recruiting a little better than most of their AAC brethren over the past couple of seasons (being located in the state of Florida helps). This is actually probably a good fit, but more importantly, UCF did it quickly and efficiently. Shannon is a better DC than probably any one else in the AAC to say the least. He also recruits the state of Florida well.

Sucks for Mizzou. I was expecting them to contend for the east if they brought lock and Heupel back

Thought he would have been a good candidate for OC had Canada actually left.

Legit comment but the sidewalk boosters did not like what he did and then a backstabber did it again.

Heupel is a great coach. Good with QBs. Nice design to his offense. He's a hard arse and fierce competitor.

Great hire for UCF. We will miss him. Any complaint about play calling are just typical fans not knowing what they are looking at.

We need to go get Kendall Briles.
