Trust Orgeron?

This has been the mantra since the National Championship game when, probably not unexpectedly, LSU's coaches began getting interest (and eventually leaving) for greater opportunities (to date I don't think anyone has made a lateral move). And understandably so. O and his staff just capped off unequivocally the best season in LSU's 126 year football history and arguably the best season of any team in the 150 year history of college football. But do the history of O's hires at LSU justify such complete and absolute trust? OR is that feeling of absolute trust too greatly influenced by one tremendous hire (Joe Brady)?
When O was named the permanent HC he inherited and kept Miles's defensive staff: Aranda, Raymond, and to some degree, himself, as DL coach. His only "new" hire was the promotion of Meatball, who I've seen many on here criticize
Offensively, his first OC hire was Canada. Which, for various reasons, was a flop. The offense had its moments, but was far from great AND LSU had to eat a substantial chunk of money to cut him loose after one year.
His first WR hire was Joseph. Now, we know Joseph was really hired to recruit NOLA. But apparently his lack of coaching ability necessitated the hiring of retired Jerry Sullivan just so someone could actually coach the WR's (a group that struggled mightily in 2018)
Tommie Robinson was the RB coach hire and many here have complained significantly about his recruiting ability.
Then, after firing Canada, O put Ensminger in the OC role. I know Ensminger has "redeemed" himself with this year's offensive performance. But did we just forget that 2018, without Brady, was as average as most LSU's offenses this decade. Did E, at 60, really just all of a sudden get that much better? Or did it have almost everything to do with Brady?
Bill Busch was a big hire (if for nothing else that he was THE connection to get Burrow to LSU). But by all accounts that was a Dave Aranda hire granted to him as part of the incentive package to keep him at LSU when A&M made a run at him in 2018.
So other than Brady (and probably James Cregg), has Orgeon really made that great of hires to warrant such unfettered trust? In his three years he hasn't had to make a significant hire on defense. Just maintain what was in place when he took over. And until Brady came along, it seems most of his hires on offense left a lot to be desired.
That's not to say Orgeron won't make some great (maybe even improved) hires this cycle, nor that he hasn't earned a lot of credibility with this season. But the absolute trust that will make such hires seems to be somewhat skewed by one hire that seemed to change everything for the trajectory of the program. Is that unreasonable?

Dude, if you want to be miserable, just say you want to be miserable and spare us all the other words.

That’s a lot of melting to say you don’t trust O

I was wondering when someone was going to start this thread because I've had the same thoughts
People are acting like all of O's hires have been hits
And hell, maybe he has learned from the failed hires, but everyone saying to trust O seems to be built on recency bias

So when you win a championship I think You get the benefit of the doubt
But really what you should trust is that if his hires don’t work, he isn’t going to go over commit to any coach. He will fix it.

can't point that out though. you'll be accused of being "miserable" or "melting".

Yes, trust the man that personally tailored the personnel that was responsible for not only the best football team in LSU history, but all of college football history.
It's time we stop doubting him and realize he knows what he's doing.

What is the alternative?
Maybe he will let the fans make the hire.
What a silly post.

We just ran through our schedule like an unleashed freight train. We just throttled the best teams in the nation. Dude, we are National Champions! Enjoy it some! And guess who brought us that championship.....Coach O.

Yeah except that was basically Aleva forcing the hire onto O.

This thread is the bat signal for those who didn’t like the O hire to begin with, shite on him for 2 years, then have been skeptical up to this point, 10 days removed from a championship.

Well, what the frick else are you going to do?
Don't trust him, see where that gets you. Personally, I'd just as soon give him the benefit of the doubt rather than run around all year with my panties in a twist.

I agree with you, but even among our apoplectic fanbase, O gets a big runway after this past season. Hopefully we get a solid DC and a good solution on offense because we really need to keep the momentum going from last year.

y'all are so sensitive
I'm not "running around with my panties in a twist"
O hasn't even hired anyone yet, nor have we seen next year's team. Why would anyone get worked up till then?

I was as critical as anyone on the O hire, but sometimes you just gotta know when to hold the L. From the jump, I think we all knew that O's - or any "CEO" type coach - success lies in the hiring of good coordinators. O recognized he needed to modernize the offense and took steps to move to the west coast style spread. That directly resulted in the greatest offensive team in fricking history.
The. Greatest. Offensive. Team. In. God. Damn. fricking. History.
Lets allow the guy to do his job and not all freak out when we lose 3 ballgames next year after losing 75% of our damn the to the draft.
