BS

USC has huge pockets from their alumni. From Entertainment, business, law, finance, etc it’s runs deep. Much more than LSU. Their boosters paid for the remodel of the coliseum, the basketball arena and much more.

Exactly. When people say LSU has more money than USC they immediately lose all credibility with me.

Haha, I freaking love that ace Ventura line you dropped in there.

Gave me a nice little chuckle; thank you for that

If that's who all this crap was about, I'd rather just let Ed run it into a straight up dumpster fire.

You don't pay a coach 17M to go away to hire James Franklin.

Never change LSU. Dumbasses.

I don't get the Franklin hype. I'd take Kiffin or Napier over him.

I hope we get someone higher on Woodward's list than any of those three though.

So as of now the list is still
Riley
Dabo
Napier
Franklin

If Napier is 3, why is there a 4? He'll take the job so any list ends with him.

Penn State looked good against Illinois Saturday.

I just can’t yet tell if Napier is legitimate or just another guy doing a Saban impersonation.

I like Napier and would be my second choice after Riley, but I also can't help wondering about that

LSU may not have more money, but they may be willing to pay more for a head coach. We’ll find out.

After Frankiin’s lengthening loss streak this conversation may take a different turn.

Locking in Jimbo for $7.5m for 10 years seemed like an outrageous sum of money, but now it’s right in line with top coaches and towards the end of the contract life he’d be underpaid. Now, the fully guaranteed part, not for me, but that wouldn’t happen at LSU without the billions of dollars backing him. Also, Woodward’s successor gave him a raise.

The annual money was never the issue with Jimbo's contract. The 10 yr 100% guarantee was and is overbought.

Maybe we shouldn’t close to book on Jimbo yet?

It’s not Jimbo nor is it Saban

Pretending to be important on multiple boards now. Not getting enough validation from strangers on the recruiting board anymore?

Damn, that would be anticlimactic.

Woodward knows enough about PR to understand why Franklin isn't a fit from a culture perspective

Right. Like when you were “joking” about justin fields transferring to lsu, or when you confirmed tristan leigh was going to lsu after bringing his gf back for a visit, or when anybody who thought Jarrett or burton weren’t going to lsu was an idiot.

I would think at this point, Franklin would be a much stronger candidate for the USC job.

I do believe Franklin would be an improvement over Orgeron. However, I think there are better options out there than him.

Franklin sucks. I’m tired of hearing what he did at Vandy. Hell Mizzou won the East their first years in and they sucked too.,,,

Franklin will sink this program.

Very likely

He sounds out his vowels too perfectly to hype me up. Seems a tad phony to me which lines up to his rumored reputation

LSU doesn’t want Franklin. It’s been that way from the start after initial contact was made. Damage control for Franklin.

Look at Franklin's record vs the best teams in his conference and vs ranked opponents. It stinks. If he is the next coach I'll be very surprised and very disappointed.
