You think Riley is still first choice? Then Jimbo next?

Franklin is a good coach

He may or may not be the best option for this job, but to act like James Franklin would be a bad hire is ridiculous.

Franklin is a meh coach that relies entirely to much on his OC and DC. He's not a CEO type coach but his adjustments are shite.

He's also never beaten a top ranked team on the road in his whole Oenn Stcareer which is very concerning.

He's not worth a top 5 HC salary either which is what we'll have to offer.

He’s done as well at Penn State as just about anyone can do. It’s not as good a job as LSU and even Joe freaking Paterno had his share of clunker seasons when he was there.

Again I’m not saying he’s necessarily the best hire we can make. And I’m not saying he’s my #1 choice. I’m just saying the pendulum has swung way too negative on this guy who has proven at multiple stops that he can get some juice out of your program. And there’s no fruit on the tree with more juice to squeeze than ours.

That is how Woodward "negotiates" - OVERPAY the market with excessive contract length.
Why not? Not his money and he has no accountability.

Woodward must be loaded to hand money out like that and the boosters must be very angry with him every where he works huh?

Let's see how this coaching search plays out.
Maybe AtM is grateful paying Jimbo $100 Million guaranteed for the next decade. That program under Jimbo is suddenly looking better than LSU right now.
Maybe LSU has boosters that will give Jimbo $15 Million year for 10 years though.

I have no problem with Franklin, I just don't think he's the right fit in Baton Rouge. Vandy and State College, yes.... LSU, no.

That’s the list. Kiffin could be thrown in there potentially but it depends on how well their conversations go. Woodward has talked to Riley, Dabo, Napier, and Franklin at least once apparently.

So as of now the list is still
Riley
Dabo
Napier
Franklin

Franklin not worth a bidding war. Would actually prefer kiffin or Napier at this point.

Strike 1
Strike 2
Strike 3
Napier gets the job at a huge raise. Guess if he is good enough to be AL's head coach in waiting under Saban that he can get LSU back to the promised land.

Well if that’s the list, I’d be betting on Napier

Hoping there’s stuff on the field we’re just not seeing.

I just can’t yet tell if Napier is legitimate or just another guy doing a Saban impersonation.

Dabo on that list make me think someone is being fed wrong info on purpose. I hope that’s the case.

BS

USC has huge pockets from their alumni. From Entertainment, business, law, finance, etc it’s runs deep. Much more than LSU. Their boosters paid for the remodel of the coliseum, the basketball arena and much more.

Get back to me when Penn State finishes the season with 5 losses. James will be happy if Penn State keeps his arse.
